I’m pretty sure that the staff has settled on Aguilar as the starter. They are not going to inform the media or us of this decision. I think our receivers and qb will be on the same page. I’m more concerned/hopefully that we have a couple of receivers that will prove to be above average. My "worry" is no one is separating themselves and getting the needed reps for a starter.
My other "worry" is none of the possible starters are throwing passes to our likely or hopefully starting three recievers.
That's the core concern in a nutshell. Someone needs to be pulling away or at least heading that direction this point in camp. Merk by every account was doing worst, but still took 1st team reps yesterday I believe. That's not ideal for growth of the offense.
If they settle on a guy and a couple recieving starters can suit up on same day i will start pumping sunshine.
Not to be purposefully pedantic, but I respectfully disagree. "Coin flip" means that it's basically up to chance or luck. Just because we don't know enough to form meaningful expectations, doesn't mean that it's a coin flip, chance/luck proposition. We are a coin flip team imo to climb or fall. I can see both happening 100%. I tend to shake my what if's loose pre-season to help me relax in season.
This team is capable of losing 4 games if this offense is worse than last year. Just my opinion. We are not on a great trajectory to be better offensively than last year. Excited to see that change.
Fair they could be mixing up 1st team snaps during open period. Curious to see when team snaps lines up with yours and my guess as to who the true starter likely will be.I’m pretty sure that the staff has settled on Aguilar as the starter. This was last year. So we are currently in the NC state spot. They had a lot of hype for their transfer QB. Our defense and roster this year is immensely more talented than theirs was. We look more like 2024 Miami or Clemson to me, but we ain't got Cam Ward or an ACC schedule.Preseason top 25 last season = 12 teams finished ranked
In Ft Myers once, buddy just moved there. Drove around all day looking for a ramp that allows double axles. I would assume that may be what happened here ? @InVOLuntary
A bit of research goes a long way.

He just didnt have enough water to launch that boat. That boat need to be launched with a travel lift. Because that was a sailboat with a large keel, they have to be hauled higher on the trailer thus requiring to be pushed way deeper in the water. You often see much longer tongues on those sailboat trailers. In Ft Myers once, buddy just moved there. Drove around all day looking for a ramp that allows double axles. Mama Carter back at it again
I said much more speed Doc! He isn’t going from a 4.9 40 to a 4.30 40. He can get more speed and agility from training. He isn’t as natural of an athlete as Carter and Spillman. That doesn’t mean I am not glad to have him as he is a good player. I just think the other two are freaks and draft picks. Not necessarily true on the speed part. There are plenty of ways to get faster. Especially in football.
I am just so happy that we can now have the discussion about which of our SEC level players should start. It’s reminds me of the good old days when we were getting multiple top players drafted every year!
Yup. It is Aguilar. And it has been. I’m honestly more worried about our receivers. They need to stay healthy and get in sync with him. I hope they have been cross training boo more. We will likely need him some. And with our tight end depth, run more two tight end sets.I’m pretty sure that the staff has settled on Aguilar as the starter. Where did you see that 40 time for him?I said much more speed Doc! He isn’t going from a 4.9 40 to a 4.30 40. He can get more speed and agility from training. We saw it last year. Nico was average last year. Without the D, OL and Sampson it would have been really bad. If the QB can hit a timely thrown I think we are in business. My opinion: don’t think we have to have great qb play to be competitive enough to make playoffs. And in this system, find it hard to believe heupel wont be able to put an above average or good qb on the field, regardless of the jimmies and joes on roster. In fact, I would say he’s never had a season where he didn’t at least get above average play. And if we can’t get that, halzle might need to go.
I could easily see us going 8-4 with poor qb play, but my expectation is not too different a team from last year. Losing Sampson leadership not great, otherwise I like our guys. And if we have wide receiver injury bug then yeah we could definitely go less than 8-4 being one dimensional with poor qb play, but I’m optimistic these guys put it together enough by end of camp to have us looking at a 9-3 season or better.
