Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Lots to be excited about.

Quarterbacks: "Wink, **** eating grin. I saw it but won't talk about it out of respect for the program and coaches."

=========================================================================

I have a lot of respect for that episode. Unlike the rest of the Knoxville media, he refuses to drive clicks by worry-circle. Also, consider Kyler is one of the VERY few voices out there that actually SAW the scrimmage.

PLEASE, folks. Stop falling for the concern-troll-media. Just wait. Have some hope. We'll see what we have soon enough.

It was a combination of both. Pendleton had actually beaten out Rocco Spindler at the start of the season and was starting over him then Schrauth got hurt so Spindler stepped in for Schrauth. Then Schrauth came back and they benched Pendleton and kept Spindler starting.
Yes, they moved Schrauth over to LG and that was where Sam was his best, he was a redshirt freshman and had played pretty much exclusively at LG. Once others came back they moved Schrauth one of the best guards in the country over to LG and Spindler to RG as Spindler wasn’t as good at LG. Moved Sam to center at that point once Craig got injured. He still graded at 66 for pass and 64 for run which would have been pretty high for OL for UT guys. I mean with the amount of snaps he had he would have been the 2nd best graded guard we had last season Karic with a 69 and spraggins with a 60. Now that might not be saying a bunch, but again, that ND OL was stout last year and we still ran all over teams with an OL that supposedly didn’t grade out well. Hopefully it doesn’t take him long to gel with everyone because he could be really good and he has years after this one to play.

Kyler actually sounded impressed with a young, unkown WR or two. He didn't seem worried much about the WRs.

And I've been positive the QB woes are overblown, if for no other reason than the fact that the ones creating the woes haven't seen the QBs work, and are just quoting everyone else that haven't seen the QBs work. And the Vol fans lap it up and get suicidal as usual. Rince, repeat.
A lot of folks around here are definitely not fountains 🤣

Sounds like we're mostly saying the same thing. I think he'll be fine. This wasn't meant to be an indictment on Pendleton.

I've had my disagreements with @KingVFL, but the "think you know" is largely displaced. He comes with good information and is liberal in admitting when he's posting opinion.

It's not unlikely that Sam may be struggling ATM in a new scheme, and if he is, that doesn't mean he will not work through it and continue to get his legs under him. (Hell, it may just be conditioning in this tempo. Who knows? It'd probably be a great idea to ask @KingVFL what he's seen and why he said that.)
What makes me pay attention to his posts as much as anything is he calls it like he sees it. He isn’t always poopooing on everything but he isn’t always sunshine pumping either.

Doesn’t mean his opinion can’t be wrong tho. I don’t put 💯 faith in anything but Jesus

Sorry it just came out that way when saying pretty much just a body. Now I do hope some of our guys turn out really good but again he would have been one of our better OL last year and he was a redshirt freshman. I hope he takes a big step forward this season for us and allows us to be able to move guys around him and we have a heck of an OL. That way we give time to QB and do our usual for running the ball. Take care

I think we beat them all. Aguilar is gonna look as good as he did in '23, probably better due to the scheme change. Our wrs are studs, our rbs are too, our OL is improved, our defense is elite. We have Heupel, and he's a dang smart genius when it comes to game planning a team.

We'll play in the SEC title game and have a 1st round bye in the natty tourney.

sorry that's kind of how people talk internally. I actually thought spraggins was just a body last year and he was 3rd team all ec.

for those of you negas thinking 7-5 is really possible, do you expect Heupel’s seat to start getting warm then? Because it would be.

8-4 is the floor. 9-3 is what we’ll be. 10-2 the ceiling.
If Heupel's seat starts getting warm that would be "special needs." Or whatever is the correct word to indicate what used to be called retarded (slow). So it would be on-brand and a pig in slops for some of the trolls.
