Happy Monday

August 11, 2025: Set aside time to relax and regroup. The days have been hectic at times and have taken a toll on your sense of well-being. Quiet yourself and let go of everything that you have worried about. Come into the Lord's rest and find peace. Matthew 11:28-30 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

That’s the disappointing thing about all of this. Could have been another playoff run with those pieces. I still wonder if it would have been worth the extra $$ to keep Nico for one more season. Big Nick may have been a headache but now we’ve traded that for our own QB headache.
Yeah we should have just let Hitler have Poland too, Jumped up Judas Priest, give me a break.

That’s nowhere near the same thing. You just fulfilled Godwin’s Law.

Godwin's Law of Nazi Analogies:
As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison
involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one.

G-Mac is the talent at QB. Heup just doesn't throw them out there before they are physically ready. That's his call. He did the same with Nico and it made no difference, he played like a freshman last season anyway.

With Faizon arriving for next season, I foresee problems in the QB room down the road if he doesn't give G-Mac a good shot at it, but he's the guy that gets paid the big bucks with all of his experience to make that call, not this armchair goober. My choice would always be to play the best talent, game plan around their inexperience and be patient while they learn. They tend to learn quicker and perform at higher levels for longer periods. I used that method in the business world well, but it may not translate as well with this.

Since they bought him, I see JA starting. It will resolve itself as the season goes on. As much as I want a return to the playoffs, at this point I do not see it happening unless JA's and the O-line's performance turns out better than I expect. Talent has upgraded in the O-line. Playing time together as a unit is a big fat zero, which is important along that front. That takes time and game reps to improve, which puts even more pressure on the QB and the play caller. As a result I expect more calls for Elarbee's and Joey H's heads and the "why don't they" and "why did they" questions to be frequent on here.

Few musings

George looks great but unfortunately he's just so thin. I don't think he's quite ready to handle a full season physically. Aguilar will definitely be the guy going into game one imo.

Physically the freshman are quite impressive. David Sanders is a man. Brame, Radarious Jackson, Morris, Dye.

Linebackers will be the best we've had in a long time.

No real dynamic playmakers on offense it seems (right now at least).

Secondary will be better if McCoy comes back even close to healthy. DL isn't as twitchy but is really solid.

I'd expect OL to be better than last year. Moe was a good pickup. Pendleton is just a body. Perry will be good. Heard and Warren are in better shape.

QB play is really just a killer right now. Nico (and Carnell Tate) really hosed us as this could've been a real championship caliber team.

Carnell Tate thing should’ve been expected. Gotta stop falling for that kid’s stuff.

QB play might suck this year but really hoping one of these cats is a gamer when the lights come on. Don’t think it’s too lofty a goal to get the same production - or close to it - from that position we got last season.

i don’t get it. Who would you rather have at qb?
1. 63% 2618 yds 19 TDs 5 Ints 358 yds rushing 3 TDs

2. 64% 2813 yds 20 TDs 5 Ints 299 yds rushing 7 TDs

One is Joe Milton and neither one of them are championship level qbs. zo will take a chance on what we got.

Tate was just trying to get a big raise from OSU and it worked...

I think 1 and 2 are better than what we have now. Maybe GMac has a higher ceiling but likely not this season specifically.

We were eating dinner at Panther City Barbecue last night. (If you get the chance, it’s Tennessee good bbq in Fort Worth).

The Cowboys preseason game was on. I’m watching it a little when I notice Milton is the QB. Initially he is looking pretty good. Then a defender gets loose and is rushing in on him. Overthrow Joe materializes and he rushed his throw and put too much on it. Overthrew the receiver by easily 5 yards or more.
They need to make him full contact at all times to see if he can break his contact avoiding overthrow. I wish him the best.

The difference with that team is the almost the entire offense wasn't first or second year players

USCe went 9-3 last season and almost made the playoffs with a RS Fr QB. More dynamic than what we have back there but still. He threw for 250+ yards TWO times in the regular season (vs Mizzou and Wofford).

Their leading receiver was a TE followed by a true SO and true FR, then a RB.

NC out of the question but this squad can still be very successful.

I am in the same boat and my cholesterol is likely a genetic issue. I have worked for a couple years now to see if diet, exercise, and various supplements might help. Went for my annual checkup today in fact. If my blood work still shows my LDL in the 145 range my doc is recommending that we start on a prescription. So be it if it leads me to a longer happy life.
If you have a significant family history of high cholesterol/lipids and heart disease then ask for a Cardiologist referral, then ask for a Cardiac Calcium score. It’s a specialized CT Scan that takes pictures between heart beats. It can look at your cardiac blood vessels in a noninvasive way.

My oldest nephew (more like a little brother to me) had a heart attack at age 49. I am 6 years older than him. I immediately scheduled an appointment with my PCP who referred me to a Cardiologist. I have been on atorvastatin since age 37 due to familial hypercholesterolemia. Strong family history of heart disease. My Cardiac Calcium score was zero. I panicked assuming that was bad (outside my specialty and didn’t read up about it prior. In my defense, he told me about it, there was a cancellation and I had it all in one office visit. Pure luck). He told me to stay on the atorvastatin and that my risk for a heart attack was essentially zero! Being a father of two teenagers made me feel much better about my future.

It’s definitely worth the time to get that information.

I had it for about a year about 3 years ago, tried a lot of things. The only thing I got to work was a massage gun and massage and stretch your calves 2-3 times a day. A lot of the pain comes from a tight calf pulling the tendons that run below the to underside of your feet.
This is the correct answer. The tightness of the Gastrocnemius muscle is the etiology of many, many foot issues.

Sounds absolutely miserable.

i will bet money right now that whoever starts(probably Aguilar) will have at the very least have similar stats to what those two put up. I will also be willing to bet that he won’t go three consecutive games without scoring a point in the first half.

Not good on Pendleton especially with Satterwhite reportedly not doing well at center.

In Ft Myers once, buddy just moved there. Drove around all day looking for a ramp that allows double axles. I would assume that may be what happened here ? @InVOLuntary

A bit of research goes a long way.
I think the guy just didn't have the right tools and maybe knowledge, but had to get it in the water for some reason.
