Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Anyone got any Plantar Fasciitis recommendations? Just now experiencing this. Right heel feels like someone is stabbing me with a knife in the mornings. Wears off as the day goes.

Inserts the best?
PT here:

Night splints and custom orthotics will have best effect. I had a procedure called Topaz after trying multiple conservative methods. Topaz is minimally invasive and is a quick recovery. Hopefully the conservative methods work for you.

The Strassburg sock is the most comfortable night splint.

who on this forum is retired? how do you do this?

I have a kid who is almost out of diapers. Nows a good time, amirite.
Retired almost 2 years. Worked in Education for 39 years and made good investments. Kids are grown and successful so not having to help them financially. Everyone has a different situation. We spent 13 years looking after parents. Looking to move to East Tennessee end of the year.

Progressive overload in the gymI
I work out 3 times a week in the gym (and have pretty much my whole life). Then, this darn property requires a lot of work on the weekend so that's my remaining exercise. This past weekend, I got in 40,000 steps just maintaining my 7 acres.

As someone who battled it for a year partially thanks to a bad podiatrist and not sticking to full healing plan - do these

Get a sound plan and do it religiously until it is resolved or it will become chronic.

If it is acute currently get a boot or at least a sock with velcro to keep it in traction while you sleep or are resting. This allows that to heal without filling that painful Bursa. The bursa draining is what hurts.

Roll that bursa over a glass bottle or lacrosse ball to get the fluid out and help break up those crystals.

Stretch it before activities so it doesn't tear again. Especially after it heals and you get back to full output.

Above all IMO explore open toe and zero drop footwear options. Walk barefoot as often as you can or get footwear that mimics it. The more you build your feet and toes up the less this will happen. Modern running shoes are horrible for many foot types.

Really, just Mincey. Point is imagine what we will do with talent on campus. Ellarbee has come a long way as a coach and recruiter.
Mincey wasn't bad in '22. Not saying he was great; but, he wasn't bad, at all. Started 7 games that season, played 457 snaps, giving up only one sack.

Totally agree about talent upgrade, very excited! Of course, I've always kept OL recruiting in perspective. While others went on and on, day after day about Elarbee, some of us recognized the MASSIVE!!! disadvantage he was dealing with his first years. OL is a completely different animal than any other position...especially recruiting wise. Always has been.

Completely disagree with your last statement. Goes back to that perspective I was talking about.
