Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

What kind of grass? We had a wet early summer, but it's been dry recently. My grass does the opposite- grows quickly in the heat.
I'm not sure. Just regular stuff you see in East Tennessee. . .

I did buy some other type of sod/grass 20+ years ago. The man told me I could plant just a small patch and it would eventually take over my whole yard. I planted about a 5x5 area back then and it covers about 1/8 acre now. It looks like the stuff on football fields. Doesnt get real tall and it's real thick. I wish it did cover my whole yard. I could skip a week mowing it and you'd never know, 😂.

I am guessing it's not bermuda. It's been a while since I heard it, but there is a 150 degree rule with bermuda. Bermuda will not really grow until the low and high temps for the day exceed 150. My backyard should probably be mowed every week in the middle of the summer. It takes off. I can tell when the fall temps start just by seeing the growth of the grass.

Wasn't even that bad of an underthrown pass. Brian Rice just said he has heard the ball has been hitting the ground more often than they'd like, so there is some concern there. But like, it's been 4 days. Also said he's heard that we shouldn't worry about the Rb's. Ppl are excited about that group.
Not worried about balls on the ground, Brazzell hasn’t practiced yet and young guys are getting it out the way early. Also, I would welcome Ethan Davis being used like Heup did the Mizzou TE that killed us that one year. Especially if Staley is not ready to perform strong in the slot.

1. Way too early to worry about camp reports, good or bad.

2. They should have shored up the receiver position this offseason, regardless.
They couldn’t promise any WR that they would start over MM or Brazzell. Now I would’ve found a slot guy, but they swung with Branch and lost out to UGA. Coach must see Smith as being potentially like those true freshmen freaks you see every year in CFB. If so, then I’m glad we’ve got us one finally and hope he never comes off the field.

Vols are ranked 18th in the coaches poll. Not to be negative but I am stunned thought we would be in the other receiving votes section
Why? . . because of QB/WR & 1 RB? Not many teams will have a better defense. We still have Heupel. Our OL is likely to be better. Our QB/WRs don't have a huge hill to climb to be better than last year. We should be ranked top15 if not for the QB & RB questions. Why should we be outside the top25?

Why? Because it's part of his game.

we are thin and hurting at multiple positions

I don't think we were ever really on the radar for Branch. We had interest for sure, but I wouldn't say we swung for the fences there.

The guy we swung for the fences on was Carnell Tate. But Ohio State matched the offer and then some.

I didn't have to unignore to know. I knew because you were posting to air.

Ron hasn't posted in 8 months and only sporadically for a while before that.
Has he hung up his cleats?
I'm gonna guess his IQ dropped so low, from reading crap in here, that he is probably being treated for dementia somewhere because he doesn't know who he is.

Just a guess though. When I feel my IQ dropping in here, I immediately take one of the many IQ tests that are available on the internet. It works for me

he fits right in. functionally illiterate and ass backwards.
The functionally illiterate have handlers that use them to grift big time. Zero salaries for Congress/Senate, no lifetime healthcare, and term limits would be a good start. Also, your net worth upon leaving office should not be reasonably above the normal rate of market return and inflation than what it was when you entered office. Public service should not be a pathway to personal enrichment, regardless of the letter after your name.

Our WRs sucked last year except Thorton occasionally streaking for 6. We’ll blow out Cuse, and I’m not ruling out our salty defense shutting down Jawja’s QB. Also for the first time in the Kirby era I couldn’t tell you who they are starting at tailback. Just need AC to not let the TE abuse him like last year.

Could be Zoysia. Does it go dormant in winter? It spreads and has runners similar to Bermuda but thicker.

Spillman will help a lot with TE coverage as well. So athletic. Can’t let Mike freaking Bobo abuse us again with the same crap over and over.

Dude’s performance against Mizzou told me all I need to know about his chances in this race. Going to need more of a killer instinct than what he has shown if he wants to be successful in politics.
lol at needing a killer instinct in politics. You think way too highly of politicians and their jobs. They need to sit back and do what they're told by the party and collect their insider trading checks. It's literally the easiest and most lucrative job on the planet if you can just get elected, and name recognition helps a lot with that part.

Made the Cardinal Sin, put all the eggs in basket thinking Carnell Tate was leaving OSU and coming here.
I never believed Tater would do anything different from what he did last time. I didn't even bother to keep up with it. I doubt the staff ignored other players on account of recruiting bruh. In fact, how else would they know that so many priced themselves as all-stars. I was surprised we didn't add at least one. But I think the panic based on a very few minutes of media viewing is meh.
