Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I agree with you.

I posted 2 years ago when people were calling for players to be paid that the day that happens schools will look at cutting a lot of sports and there would be very few schools making money at the end of the day, There were not that many programs consistently making money as a whole before house…

Six Stephen F. Austin State University athletes from the women’s bowling and beach volleyball teams filed a class-action lawsuit against their school this summer alleging Title IX discrimination after the university announced it would cut those two programs and men’s and women’s golf. “The decision was based on sustained departmental budget deficits and the anticipated financial impact of upcoming revenue-sharing requirements with Division I athletes,” SFA athletics said in a statement. The plaintiffs sought to keep the school from axing these programs.

Actually the best team I've ever watched was the 1983 Nebraska Cornhuskers. Even though they lost National Championship game to Miami at the Orange Bowl. Turner Gill, Mike Rozier and Irving Fryar were the Original triplets...

When I used to have a pager, I would turn my phone off until I finished watching the game.
Now that everyone uses their cell phones instead of pagers, I have to leave my phone on. I usually watch the games later so that I can fast forward through all the crap. I can’t even count the number of times I’ve gotten a text that destroyed my enjoyment of not knowing what was happening in the game.
I’m considering going back to turning my phone off. I may change my voicemail to “I am watching a Tennessee sporting event, just call 911 or go to the nearest ER.”
Used sporting event so that I can leave it as my voicemail message year round. Selfish? I actually don’t get very many calls from hospitals, other doctors or patients on the weekends, so it probably won’t make a big difference anyway 😎

this says a lot, because the other freshmen tight end was a hoss at the poly bowl
Man o man, if we had two Jason Witten TEs on the field. The defenses would be so screwed.

I can’t get the 247 photo to load, but all the freshman players pictures look like upper class men not incoming freshmen at all.

Do think JVD could be all sec for us
I’m drinking all the Koolaid. All American.

I actually like the fact that he played DE and LB his senior year. It was to help his team due to injuries, but I bet it will also help him play better as a TE.

He never once wavered or even took other visits once he committed to Tennessee.

Texas HS Programs are just so different. Like many of the baseball programs around here. Why there are so many pro kids taken from TN.

Now that Sneed is off the board, do you guys think we take another TE? I don’t think we have to, but it’d be nice to get a big, bruising SOB like we had with Princeton Fant.

Watching him run in that TD at the goal line vs the stupid Gumps in ‘22, who were apparently too dumb to even recognize the formation according to Saban, makes me want another TE who can run out of the Tight I-Formation.
Jack Van Dorselear says hi. I think the two true freshmen TEs can fit that bill.
