They could cut the tickets prices by nearly 70% and still be within the actual +$2.2m profit that they report. They do a lot of stuff to make it seem like they are operating at near even expense/profit margin, but in reality they are likely fudging the numbers by $30-$60m/yr. So these constant price increases are bad and trying to justify them is too.

Here is where they are likely fudging up the #s:

lol this isn’t close to accurate.

I don’t know if Hooker is going to make it as an NFL quarterback in the long run. I do feel certain, though, that it could be a blessing in disguise for him to get released by the Lions and land an opportunity with another organization. It’s not working for him in Detroit.
Milton might last longer, and only cause he landed in a better situation cause he ain’t the better QB.

Ironic.

That’s 4 words

And Matthews went on to become a referee. He is the ref that called Florida’s WR Gaffney dropped pass in the end zone a TD and allowed Florida to beat us. No reviews back then. Matthews bitter about always losing to Vols, but he got his revenge
I can’t believe after all these years I never knew this.

I love seeing all these old videos where fans are on the field and celebrating with the athletes and those same people are now saying "back in my day we ain't done that crap"
Yeah the pearl clutching from media pricks and ADs who push the “no fans” agenda need to know history. But that’s not what they’re interested in.

I hope they perpetually go 7-5/7-6 and lose to us Kentucky-style every year. Just enough to keep Sunbelt Billy around and in purgatory.
Kentucky may never beat us again now that they're basically giving up on funding the football team 🤣

0-4 so far against Heupel and our programs are heading in completely opposite directions

So you are suggesting violating standard account principals…. Interesting approach.

You can make numbers look a certain way while adhering to GAAP. Reinvesting profits and depreciating certain ways can vastly skew the final numbers. And they can always reallocate profits to the university where they can offset losses there and disappear.

How many were at this game........butts clinched?????

I was..........

And this is why Allama Matthews should have never been allowed back inside Neyland as an official. Anyone that thinks he wasn't biased in making that '00 phantom Gaffney TD call is delusional. And the fact that the SEC office defended him instead of firing him and issuing a public apology was proof they were complicit in covering up both the incompetence and bias in their crews. Just seeing that clown's name makes my blood boil.

Ooops, posted this before I read Ace's post. But since Ace didn't properly disparage Matthews and SEC officiating, I'll just edit this instead of deleting it. 😁
