Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

College As Told By Step Brothers GIFs

Spoiled entitled boomers don't want anything to change. The pace of change in our world is increasing exponentially and the older we get, the less change we are willing or able to accommodate in our lives. My aunt talks about how my grandfather would probably not even watch CFB today with all the changes and he looooooved UT football and was at every game until he became physically unable to go. Older folks are going to be more and more upset but the teams that focus on making the older generation happy and neglect the younger gens will probably have less success in 10-15 years.

I like that the leadership group is helping drive how the team is handled. Kirby Smart did an interview the other week and he spoke on the idea that what is needed to win elite hasn't changed even if everything else has. I think the Boo situation resonates that point. Most players are more selfish than ever with NIL being the focus, but the team being the focus is still what wins.

I am not sure if they will navigate this like they hope, but I like that they are focused on the things that matter.

Regarding the 88 year old guy I can see both sides. When you are a legacy holder like he is they will usually work with you to move your seats. People get sentimental though. A go fund me to allow a guy to stay in some high dollar seats seems silly too. Would have been nice if he could split those tickets with family or friends to make them cost effective, but maybe be wants to be at every game.
I always liked the "mini season ticket", where you get like 3 games for $350. One of them is usually a good game. I'm Not Sure they still do that though.

Nico wore one all the time, not sure it helped at all, but good observation.

They also signaled he had the best throws yesterday. Could be they are making Joey take the spot. I like it if so. Joey has fought and won one before.
Merk is gonna have to be really good to beat out Aguilar, just based on Aguilar's experience.

I agree with the old guy
Might be his last season seeing them play
He’s payed a fortune if he’s been a season ticket holder for a long time also
Give the man nice seats

Missing on first round picks hurts but this is why the Titans organization is the worst on field performing team in the league.
Yeah that's one reason the Titans were the worst in the league last year, the other was firing Mike Vrabel and having Levis and Rudolph at QB.

Vrabel and a decent QB probably gets them to around .500 last year.

Agreed they are high but how can they be inflated when they are selling out?

Is this not economics 101….Supply vs Demand?
I mean, yup.

100,000 seats and millions of people that want to sit in them is what you would call a "zero sum game". You can let price sort itself out or you can do some type of lottery system.

I have some sympathy for the older crowd that has been going to games for decades, including when we were God awful. However, no offense to that guy, but I wouldn't be super excited about prioritizing 80+ year old fans who are just sitting there scowling at the field, either if I'm DW.

You could also argue there is a balance where you can leave some money on the table and give fans a more affordable experience without completely maximizing ticket revenue. And the same people making that argument will be mad every time we lose out on a recruit over money as rev share becomes a thing. From DW's perspective, there is no approach that leaves everyone happy.

Remember when I said I'm ready to judge the team based on media video of 10 minutes of warm ups? Here goes:

Merk bouncing a ball 3 ft in front of a 2 yard hitch route... About as ugly as possible for routes on air. I think it's clear none of the QBs have the arm of Milton/Nico, but Merk's passes in particular seems to float more than the other two. Give me -800 Aguilar
