True but the ticket prices are an effect of the greater issue which is poor leadership of college athletics.I get that but also, prices have skyrocketed in a short time. Ticket prices are becoming unreachable to attend for many Tennesseans now.
I see where this is headed and I’m not liking it. The allure of college sports was based on a pure passion for the game which went hand in hand with affordability.
Now that we gotta pay players, affordability is going down. It’s an inverse relationship and it’s headed in the wrong direction.
I’m still skeptical to say we made playoffs because of Nico and not the defense and run game. Maybe I’m just biased at the moment because of how that all unfolded, but what’s one game last year where we won because of Nico? I can’t think of one where he put the game on his back and went all out. With that defense and run game, even Bazooka Joe would have gotten us into the playoffs.Yet, similar production to Nico = potential playoff appearance. That’s the point I was making. Of course we would rather our quarterback be much better than a middle of the road performer like Nico.
Nico wore one all the time, not sure it helped at all, but good observation.Merk is the only QB wearing a go pro on his helmet which is interesting. It probably means nothing, but still.
Spoiled entitled boomers don't want anything to change. The pace of change in our world is increasing exponentially and the older we get, the less change we are willing or able to accommodate in our lives. My aunt talks about how my grandfather would probably not even watch CFB today with all the changes and he looooooved UT football and was at every game until he became physically unable to go. Older folks are going to be more and more upset but the teams that focus on making the older generation happy and neglect the younger gens will probably have less success in 10-15 years.Regarding the 88 year old guy I can see both sides. When you are a legacy holder like he is they will usually work with you to move your seats. People get sentimental though. A go fund me to allow a guy to stay in some high dollar seats seems silly too. Would have been nice if he could split those tickets with family or friends to make them cost effective, but maybe be wants to be at every game.
