Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

There's a way to share an opinion and have discourse in good faith. Crapping all over something that many people love by calling it worthless is probably not the best approach. Seems like you just want to piss people off and then retreat back to an "everybody got so damn sensitive" take, but maybe I'm wrong. I'm just trying to figure out if you're an unintentional a-hole or an intentional a-hole. I've got a friend who takes pride in being an intentional a-hole...his transparency helps.
Well I'm flattered I have gathered so much of your attention. Keep up with my horribleness and you may come to a definitive conclusion, copper.

This situation isn’t because of social media it’s because of Boo and how broken modern college football is currently.
Boo has an uphill battle. None of us know his home life, but the freneticism of what we see and hear is really sad.

One foot in and out the door at all time, lack of personal accountability (perceived), and bad decisions. Really bigger picture, for his sake I hope he is able to step back and self evaluate.

Once the neurons start to fire and frontal lobe is developed enough to discern. Legs will be tired, concussions will be had, and money will be spent. Gray starts to form in facial hair, and guess hwat!?

I've seen no mention of a father and his mother's personality is well established. Seems likely that he hasn't had the kind of guidance that many benefit from. His road will almost certainly be rocky.

They need to focus on the portal and eligibility rules. If it wasn't so easy for players to leave whenever they want and be eligible, then you wouldn't have as much tampering and high bidding wars that have led us to where we are.
It's all meaningless and has been the last 11 years. The only thing that will end the madness is employing the players.

Everything eventually becomes crabs. And these NCCA and Uni (and now political) power-hungry mongers are only throwing things in circles, but we'll still end up back at the only possible outcome (given the SCOTUS ruling) sooner or later.

All of this is just useless preamble.

Maybe we can inspire our staff to follow the lead of negas’ and irrationally react so he can go elsewhere and we still have to pay him.

Bet we have to provide him a path until he truly misses mandatory practices or crosses some other significant line or risk a wrongful dismissal and get stuck with the bill. But we could feel manly so I guess we should flex our ego.

They need to set the contracts up to where the players get paid a lump sum mid-season. Or half after the 1st game and the other half after the final game. Maybe they already do, i'm not sure, but that seems like it would cut the throat on a lot of this stuff. You wouldn't have to worry about them getting paid then taking off with next year's cash. They get nothing if they're not on the team for the 1st and last kick-off of the season.
I believe the House settlement had influence over how they handled this season’s NIL. They knew more funds were coming after the season started.

He never really “trucked” anybody. Not the way I consider trucking. He ALWAYS hesitated right before making contact, then pushed through to run over them and make it look like he trucked them
I recall one near the goal line in one game where he took the guy on pretty good and gained a yard or two.

Anyone else notice how VQ didn’t start talking about the boo Carter situation until they were asked about it after Tony Basillo broke the story?

9.95 please
Tbh thats pretty professional. They knew about whats been going on all summer and said nothing until TB spilled the beans. Then they were forced to comment on it (and probably waited for CJH's blessing on what could be said).

Or, they knew about it all along and were in the doldrums for content so they told TB to break it so they could start talking about it lolol

Also, I don't want any presidential administration messing with sports.

Yes, it needs to be fixed, but if the executive office does it then its going to at the whims of every administrative to flip flop on key details and control.

I think we're to the point that the federal government must step in to override the states on NIL policy but at the legislative level with a bill thats harder to scrap, can be amended over the years with bipartisan input.

Kids that have only been exposed to family members who make a lifetime of bad decisions don't automatically magically turn around when they show up at college. The easiest and laziest thing to do is just toss them aside. At the same time you have to weigh their personal issues against the negative effect on the team. Any of us that worked with these kids for any length of time have long lists of tough decisions that had to be made and long lists of kids who were bound and determined to listen to the wrong people. The Hope is this young man can get his head screwed on right, make amends and turn himself around. Whatever Coach decides, dismissal, suspension for a time, etc I think he has earned the right to be supported by the fans no matter what it does to the "depth chart". What makes it difficult for a lot of programs right now is the Colorado Clown Show that kids are convinced they can run to and feel like coaches relate more to them (BS) and that they will have less accountability (also BS I believe). No easy answers for this situation, and anyone that thinks they have one has never really had to make these kinds of decisions.

Where is Boo going to go at this point? He can’t transfer now and if he’s playing this fall it’s going to be at UT. Unless it’s so bad that he transfers down divisions, which I doubt happens.

Best case scenario with Boo IMO is get one more year out of him with hopefully little distraction. At the end of the year let him do whatever he wants, no more money, and no concessions to keep him.

You run the risk of it all blowing up in the middle of the year and affecting the team this year though.
There has to be accountability with everyone on the team. If he's become a cancer in the locker room, we're gonna be in for a long season. I hope Heupel remains true to his quote about no one is bigger than the power T. Cut him before fall practice if he's not gonna attend meetings and practice.

More good evidence to support the idea that we should just pay whatever demands are made by young talented players. Quit being cheap. It's just money. Easy solution. 🙄
Only works when your the federal govt with an ability to print unlimited money. As the MD said he had limited resources.
