I do not want to be starting supposed-to-be backups and freshmen across the back end of the defense. Just like I didn’t want us to exit spring practice and lose our would-be starting qb.Does anyone else just want a resolution to this Boo situation one way or the other?
Meh. Player leadership is important. And with the press that has come out of this, very few will blame Heupel for losing Boo and very few want him or his lunatic mother to stay. If it stays completely private you end up with "Boo dismissed for violating team rules" and people are up in arms about the loss of talent.I do not want to be starting supposed-to-be backups and freshmen across the back end of the defense. Player-led teams are great, but really wish Heupel would step in and get it handled. Wanted the same with Nico. It should never get to the point where it becomes a public matter. The best head coaches understand this. You don’t hear about what goes on and it gets handled internally, and if you do hear about it it’s because a final decision was made. This is where the head coach needs to put on his manager hat and get it taken care of, before it becomes a public media fiasco, in my opinion.
Ummm, he was a top 150 player nationally by both Rivals and 24/7 so he was a 4 star not a 3 star. Not all 5 star players leave their initial program. Boo was a 3 star by most accounts. There is a small percentage of players that continually try to get more money. I contend them types will find out the hard way and these types rarely pan out. But it’s more attitude and work ethic than the star ranking. You said we would be better to just recruit 3 stars. There are many 4 and 5 star players that are good young men and have great families. The majority that enter the portal are either moving down or up in competition. Not many lateral moves unless other problems or issues like Boo and other players that are never satisfied with anything. Most players do not follow that route. Now I do agree you might pass when the red flags are waving strong in high school. If you were talking about them specific types I agree with you, you want good people in your program. But any team can have 1 or 2 stray, nobody gets em all right. GBO
lighten up francisI've never liked pro wrestling...but a lot of folks grew up watching it and it's no different than Saturday morning cartoons for them. It's part of their childhood. Just because it was worthless to you (and for me as well) doesn't make it worthless. Saying that while folks are sad about Hulk Hogan passing is just an a-hole move. You seem to enjoy posting sh** like that...just like when you tried to correct people saying "natty" in their tribute posts to SAS. I can't tell if you just lack the ability to determine when it's inappropriate to say certain things or if you're just an a-hole. If you're on the spectrum and just can't grasp that kind of stuff, then that would make sense. Otherwise...dang dude.
Too quick to make that judgement. Plenty of writers have said we’re not there yet.Doesn’t sound like Boo wants to be here or his teammates want him here. He’s caused a problem for himself that it doesn’t look like he can come back from. Not the kind of teammate you want. I’m supporting the guys who want to be here.
OT Anyone going to the Braves/Reds game in Bristol at the Speedway?
Not saying that’s not true, but people more in the know have suggested it’s not. Swain is not in the know and he’s an overreacter to everything. He only gets clout because he’s a former player. He’s like our version of Greg McElroy, but without as many twitter followers.SIAP, Swain thinks we’re at a point of no return with Boo
A couple of people in the know have said it looks like it's beyond the point of reconciliation. I realize that's not concrete, but it leads me to believe Boo will be gone.Too quick to make that judgement. Plenty of writers have said we’re not there yet.
But I’m sure our fanbase will blow this out of proportion and mess it up like we do with everything.
Not sure I’ve ever seen a fanbase eat their players alive for people with perceived “insiders sources” that prob just make the player want to leave anyways! Does this happen at Bama, UGA or Texas and I just miss it? Heck UGA has guys arrested left and right and I still don’t hear or see them calling for a players head when it’s non mandatory practice days! Heck even if Boo wanted to be here after the idiots on here for a week I’m sure he prob doesn’t anymore.Too quick to make that judgement. Plenty of writers have said we’re not there yet.

Lol people are up in arms over loss of talent no matter how it happens. Unless your uga/bama/osu/oregon/texas and you have more talent than you know what to do with.Meh. Who’s more “in the know” than Swain saying something different? Swain is the sideline reporter for VolNetwork…he’s pretty established. Not saying that’s not true, but people more in the know have suggested it’s not. Truth is, once it reaches public ears, it's probably already over.I do not want to be starting supposed-to-be backups and freshmen across the back end of the defense. Just like I didn’t want us to exit spring practice and lose our would-be starting qb.

Talent and ego management is a part of any team that has it.
