Sounds similar to NFL model. They need to set the contracts up to where the player's get paid a lump sum mid-season. Or half after the 1st game and the other half after the final game. Maybe they already do, i'm not sure, but that seems like it would cut the throat on a lot of this stuff. You wouldn't have to worry about them getting paid then taking off with next year's cash. They get nothing if they're not on the team for the 1st and last kick-off of the season.
I’m not sure if the new rules are out yet, but I didn’t think you could walk on anymore that all 105 had to be on scholarship. Maybe that goes into effect next year and thus he could do that this year and be elig for scholarship after the season. If Boo walks on at Colorado, he’s likely using UT NIL money, isn’t he?
Not all 5 star players leave their initial program. Boo was a 3 star by most accounts. There is a small percentage of players that continually try to get more money. I contend them types will find out the hard way and these types rarely pan out. But it’s more attitude and work ethic than the star ranking. You said we would be better to just recruit 3 stars. There are many 4 and 5 star players that are good young men and have great families. The majority that enter the portal are either moving down or up in competition. Not many lateral moves unless other problems or issues like Boo and other players that are never satisfied with anything. Most players do not follow that route. Now I do agree you might pass when the red flags are waving strong in high school. If you were talking about them specific types I agree with you, you want good people in your program. But any team can have 1 or 2 stray, nobody gets em all right. GBOYeah, there's nothing remotely close to that in my post.
Before the portal and NIL era, you could prioritize talent way above all else, because players with questionable character would still be around for four years as long as you could keep them out of jail.
In this new era, talent matters less in the eval process because it really doesn't matter if you are going to have to re-recruit them to your school every second of every day. The five star player that leaves in a year is just a waste of money. That's all. The sentiment has nothing to do with choosing not to recruit talented players, all else being equal.
He never really “trucked” anybody. Not the way I consider trucking. He ALWAYS hesitated right before making contact, then pushed through to run over them and make it look like he trucked themHe knows he's not gonna get hit in practice. He freaks out when the lights come on.
Remember when he looked scared to hit a little cb? People started talking about it and the next week he came out trucking people.
I have no idea what can happen now because it seems to change every 4 months. After the BYU QB left and went to Tulane as a walk-on idk how anyone can be stopped from doing that.I’m not sure if the new rules are out yet, but I didn’t think you could walk on anymore that all 105 had to be on scholarship. Maybe that goes into effect next year and thus he could do that this year and be elig for scholarship after the season.
I hate interacting with people like that but I also feel bad for them. These folks are often socially awkward and just key in on one thing, politics, as a means of creating a social circle. Social media makes it easier to find other like-minded people, so that certainly encourages it. We all need friends that disagree with us on a lot of subjects, otherwise we get dumber and more miserable. Some people make their whole personality about politics. It's really sad.
I've never liked pro wrestling...but a lot of folks grew up watching it and it's no different than Saturday morning cartoons for them. It's part of their childhood. Just because it was worthless to you (and for me as well) doesn't make it worthless. Saying that while folks are sad about Hulk Hogan passing is just an a-hole move. You seem to enjoy posting sh** like that...just like when you tried to correct people saying "natty" in their tribute posts to SAS. I can't tell if you just lack the ability to determine when it's inappropriate to say certain things or if you're just an a-hole. If you're on the spectrum and just can't grasp that kind of stuff, then that would make sense. Otherwise...dang dude.pro wrestling is the absolute worst. well, second behind women's basketball but still ridiculous and worthless.
