Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Im still very much “wait and see” with the OL. I think Heard will be improved, I think Moe and Pendleton will be solid, Sham/Satterwhite idk about, and Sanders will be good, but I definitely think we see some growing pains with him, especially early on
They just need to gel. But we’re healthy and have some talent. I’m excited for the OL and LB units. Finally think both have talent to be very good if they come together.

Ill take your word😆
Here I am, trying to help you morans and this is the thanks I get. Pizz off. I hope you accidentally run into weezie on a cold December night and he beats the brakes off of you. My only wish is that some random bystander records it and posts it, so we can all appreciate and applaud.

Too much?

Too much? I apologize 🙂.
Apology? Never thought I'd see the day

JMO, but seems like a huge amount of hand wringing on here for a guy who wasn’t a game changer last year. He clearly has potential, but check out how he graded last season as it wasn’t one of our higher scores. Personally, I was surprised they upped his NIL significantly for his level of contribution. Not saying kick rocks, but if he’s really not buying in to the team concept then we may well be better giving someone else a shot. Next man up - same as it is when a starter goes down to injury. JMO, TIFWIW
You realize Boo was a true freshman right? For a true freshman he was great. Dude is scheduled to log the most snaps on the team. Total game changing talent. Unless yeah, he's slacking off.

If the current players are already upset with Boo I dont see how you can bring him back knowing good and well he might bounce at any time. You have players that have been at school all summer trying to get better and he is a no show for the most part. If he comes back he will be a distraction and the players who were here all summer will really be mad.

We live in a society of instant gratification and one that idolizes fame, power, and money. It’s a sickness and selflessness is a rare trait nowadays and that goes double for the state of college football.

I don’t know who’s to blame but I can tell you parents of kids like Boo are becoming increasingly common and are raising lazy and entitled kids with no work ethic. I see it everyday with some of my peers at work, many whose kids play sports. Grown teenage boys who play video games all day and don’t even know a hard days work if it bit them in the ass but their parents complain to the coaches all hours of the day because they don’t get playing time. Give these types of parents/kids more money than they’ve ever seen in their life and see what comes out.
Truth. Our current society values an I got mine and screw you mentality. Cruelty is in and kindness is out. Never apologize about something just double down, lie, steal, and deceive.

I don’t think there is any coming back from this for Boo. He doesn’t strike me as the “make amends” type based off how his mother acts

I think one thing to remember with the whole Boo Carter thing:

3 months ago, Huepel stood after the O&W game and said, "No one is bigger than the Power T, including me."

3 months later, he faces the same decision (or looks like it's potentially heading that way). I just can't see a way he can kick Nico off the team but bring Boo back if this goes on much longer. At some point, the team will start looking at CJH to see if he really meant what he said back in April.

Pretty simple. He shows up and apologizes. Camp starts and he gives max effort and shows he wants to play. Then it is fine.

Happy Thursday

July 24, 2025: I was thinking of the lyrics of an old song: Count your blessings; name them one by one. And, I think that is something we need to do periodically. It is easy to dump down into things that are difficult or challenging instead of having faith that when we abide in the Lord, everything will work out according to the will of God. We need to trust Him to reveal His perfect will for each one of us. Psalm 103:1-5 Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagles

He did, we’re just waiting for a retread to show up at a different school or NFL. Imagine the inbreed tears if that happens. We deserve this.
I meant Cowerd. That was like listening to a broken record. I almost wonder if he forgot what he was trying to say as he was saying it.

Cleveland, New Orleans. Cleveland and Haslams. Mannings and New Orleans. Manning, Sexton, Haslams. Sexton and Saban. Mannings, Sexton, Saban. Cleveland, Haslams, Sexton, Mannings, Saban.

This isn’t a finkle and einhorn situation. Draw enough lines and you can tie that stuff together however you want. Like, we got what you’re speculating at the first time you said it. Going quite the distance to turn a random speculatory comment into a 3 minute segment.

Football season can’t come soon enough.

Eh. Apples and oranges. VQ is saying this has nothing to do with holding out for money (yet). And he's not skipping actual practices (yet). So there's a ton of middle ground between doing nothing and kicking him off the team.

Make him run. Start him with the 3's in Fall camp. Put his ass on the bench if none of that works.

I don't get the impression Boo is the brightest crayon in the box. It's totally possible he just needs to see "actions meet consequences" a little bit and he'll be fine.

Demanding complete and total buy in or you're completely off the team is not a realistic standard. JPJ would have been kicked off the team last year if that was the standard. I think in year's past this Boo Carter situation wouldn't have even been a story. The Nico situation combined with the fact that Miles Kitselman and Josh Joseph's are not ****ing around as the team leaders, you end up here. But plenty of places to go before dismissal IMO
