Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Dale Carter is the best Defensive Back to ever play for the University of Tennessee.

Bold statement. Can't disagree, because Carter was the true elite. Not only one of the best DBs in UT history, but college football history; and, then throw in his return game, which took the elite to another level.

But, hard to agree, though. Because...Eric Berry.

If you told me I could have one of them, in their prime, for the next 2 years - I’m taking Dale Carter.

He’s the better overall talent and weapon.

I agree. I was going to respond...best DB, yes; because of the versatility. Best S, no...believe EB the best pure S.

This breaks it down pretty well.

I've read that a lot of niche Olympic sports, especially women's winter sports, are generally less about talent (although still important to a degree) and more about money/access to top coaches/practice facilities. Like women's downhill skiing. If you're rich enough and have a daughter who wants to become an Olympian in that, she would have a pretty good shot simply because the pool of potential participants who can train for it year-round is actually fairly tiny.
Ya I was thinking more summer sports for sure. But if you're rich enough to be a downhill skier you don't have to work a day job anyway haha.

I'm sure curling is another one where they have day jobs. But in general I'd say more USA Olympians are pros than not. No clue about the rest of the world.

So is Boo going to be a Vol this season or not? We keep thinking these problems are fixed, only to find out they're not.
Well Georgia had a current commit try to drive-by kill his classmates so I’d say we’re doing ok all things considered.

Also, crude joke alert. Had he been enrolled, he would have been successful.

Thomas is out for the year, Boo is likely gone, and McCoy may not be good to go to start the season…I really wish we kept jordan matthews and christian harrison, as well as some of the receivers we lost last year for depth purposes

AP said as far as he knows Boo can’t just transfer to another school at this point. So he’s just going to sit out a year? Doesn’t seem very smart on his part
Like I said, he’s gonna screw around and find out the hard way, just like Nico did. He will end up at a FCS school or not even playing. He will be labeled radioactive, and will cost himself millions in the end and then end up on a team like UCLA.

None of those three takes is a fact. Geez man

Missing meetings and showing up late happens at every team. What I can’t figure out is why our players are letting this stuff out to media members.

Should be handled internally
He’s causing his teammates to do extra running because he doesn’t want to show up. It’s selfish at the end of the day.

I’d be pissed too if I were them. This has probably been going on for a long time before we even heard about it. Who’s to say Boo won’t quit on his teammates mid season if he doesn’t get his way?
