Basilio’s summary of the Boo situation doesn’t sound terrible. Player leadership is frustrated because Boo is mailing it in. Not showing up to workouts, meetings, etc. Apparently this was an issue last season with Pearce also just going through the motions. It’s why his season wasn’t as impressive as many expected, and why he sat out a half at one point. Some guys get a little money and take their foot off the gas. The players don’t want to see a repeat and are trying to get Boo to correct it.

In my opinion it seems very fixable but will be determined by Carter.

Are you saying things will work themselves out?

“Public Enemy Number One” – John Dillinger – was killed by federal agents moments after he walked out of the Biograph Theater in Chicago. The cat-and-mouse game between the Dillinger Gang and law enforcement had finally reached its conclusion after 14 months.

Basilio's summary of the situation is also stuff he just makes up for traction and views/audience. There's nothing happening and Boo has the most drama history on the team. Easy person to start rumors about.

Asking for serious purposes. Do any of you actually attend WNBA games and think these ladies are underpaid? I know their league loses money. Seems kind of an odd protest. Pay me more even though my league loses money.

Target net 4 billion profit in 2024
Wnba net 50 million loss in 2024.

Thats why managers make more. Why do people think all pro athletes should make outrageous money?

I think there may be something out there. But, also think the clown show is so far outside the circle that its the message at the end of the line by time its been whispered 50 times.

Easy to see he loves to deal in speculative absolutes. That is reason he is equivalent of the National Enquirer.

There was a time where crap like this was handled in house without the drama leaks. we're talking required conditioning, weight-training activities, review of game film and walk-throughs all part of the off-season routine. I mean it's 8 hours a week, no more than 2 hours a day just do it. Can't lead it you can't follow.

Get after Boo, Eason

I would rather shadow a target store manager than to watch the WNBA. Just like every profession in the world, they should make what the market says they should make.

I haven't noticed a strong locker room presence since Joe Milton. AJ Johnson and Curt Maggitt come to mind years ago.

Boo still has to play 2 years, not sure why he'd think this was a smart idea now.

Pearce was all but guaranteed to be a first round pick. I mean he slipped 10-12 spots probably, but also didn't have any serious injuries so in a way his foot coming off the gas didn't bite him. It will 100% bite Boo, he's not a freak athlete like Pearce and 5'11" 200lb 4.4 to 4.6 DBs are a dime a dozen. Especially those with no production to back up their character issues.

I wouldn't call them underpaid. They have a choice to work anywhere they want but they choose the WNBA. I know the salaries are low compared to other professional athletes but other pro sports leagues are much more popular and generate more $ (to my knowledge). If they truly believe they are underpaid, they should be prepared to sit out or to go to other leagues/jobs. The women's basketball job market will determine their salary. Then the WNBA will have to determine if it's worth it to pay them more.

I don't think it's 100% the players' fault that the league is not popular also. It is up to the league to sell their product. And to date, they are still trying to sell this product. They may eventually throw in the towel and say this is a bad product that people don't want and we aren't going to try and sell it any longer. From that standpoint, the WNBA players may have a case. The golden goose is in the league now imo. If there were ever a time for the WNBA to gain popularity (and be profitable), it's now. I think CC, Angel Reese, Cameron Brink, etc have generated a lot more interest in the league. The players can also market themselves a lot more before leaving college now, so that should help the popularity also. Trying to see both sides. It's easy to say "the product is boring and doesn't make $", which is a valid opinion. You can also point at other non-sports companies that lose $ but pay a lot of $ for salaries because they are expecting growth. That's the WNBA's gamble to decide on.
