There needs to be a structure placed in the college game. Eventually all this free agency will cause damage in the pros.College ball just needs to accept it's NFL Jr. and adopt their contract philosophy.
Miss mandatory workouts or practices = not paid
Miss games without injuries (holdouts etc.) = not paid
And instead of open transfers as we have now they're treated like free agents....if they're not unrestricted (good academic standings, during an appropriate transfer period, met all appearance requirements etc. for NIL) then whatever team/school tries to snag 'em has to reimburse the school they are leaving.
-When you sign with your team you are a yearly restricted free agent until you graduate. You are eligible to negotiate your contract each year.
-Figure out a way to make it a performance/commission-based structure. The better you play the more you make.
-If you break your contract, you are eligible to be sued if you break the contract for up to 50% of your yearly contract ed payout.
-Once you graduate, you are eligible to be a free agent. You may transfer every year for the remainder of your college eligibility.
These are changes I feel would make the game better and push college athletes to work harder in order to make more money.
