Not for sure if it was a gift that someone never got or what but my dad would do something like that. About those records found another bin with records this morning lol. My dad loved music. He has a reel to reel player and it still has the Beatles on it and how old the tape is I have no clue yet lol. I have a storage unit in town I have to go through and my wife is saying we might have to have a yard sale. Speaking of Army things I found a small case and it had 7 old kabar knives and another one had about 25 old zippo lighters lolDon’t think he’s talking about the condition of the jacket. He means it is fate that you found it. You were meant to find it. It’s a cool find. I’m sure there are a few folks in here who are very curious about those hundreds of records you found too.
Since you said he only bought Army stuff, my first thought was that the Tennessee stuff was a gift for someone that they never had a chance to give. Seems like something my parents would have done. They used to buy gifts and stash them until they could gift them.
This is the part that I call bull$hit on towards Big Nic and TJ Houshmenzadeh’s explanation of trying to save face with everyone. You went to a 3rd rate B1G school, which is probably the 15th most popular athletic event in town, you play in front of 20k fans in a stadium that seats 100k, with a lesser roster, lesser coach, you take less $ in a town where the cost of living is substantially more. There is nothing on paper that possibly went the way that Nico’s camp wanted. They made themselves the poster children for what not to do.The funny thing is that he went to worse supporting cast at UCLA and for half the pay.
They will never admit it went wrong for them and if they did, they wouldn't have done it in the first place. This is the part that I call bull$hit on towards Big Nic and TJ Houshmenzadeh’s explanation of trying to save face with everyone. I could not be that lucky lol I do have a picture that is a woodblock painting that my dad had since he was 11 years old about 20 years ago he decided to see if it was worth anything and he got in contact with some company in Chicago and they wanted him to send it to them for them to get a physical look at it and he wouldnt do it and they told him that the only other one they knew of anywhere was in a museum at the U Michigan. So he took it down to Hunter Museum to see if they could help and at first the one guy told him they really did not know anything about it or how much it was worth and then he went and got the dad and he came out and looked at it and said the same thing but then turned around and offered him $7k. So my dad was like for something that they had no clue about but offered him $7k how much is it really worth. They told him it was a real wood block painting. Here is a picture of it but not the one on my wall. Those record are probably worth $10k+![]()
The Butcher Shop if you're looking for a steak. Also had a killer apple pie they'd serve hot and bubbling in a cast iron skillet. Worked in Little Rock for a year and half 14-15 yrs ago so things could have changed but I'd recommend checking it out.Speaking of Arkansas, and forgive me for going off-topic, but I have to Little Rock for work next week. Anyone have any restaurant recommendations (other than Applebees!)?
