Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Yeah no kidding, had a friend in high school, kind of, that took his dads copy of that and johnny reb........needless to say, we didn't stay friends long. Good grief those are awful.
My friend's uncle was a truck driver and that's how he got a copy of it. The same uncle also gave my buddy the John Bean (Leroy Mercer) tapes.

"How'd they get wet?"

"Well, water of course!"

🤣

Just got back from seeing the National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington, TX! If you come to the DFW area, this is a wonderful place to spend a couple of hours learning about the medal recipients and their heroic actions. The virtual reality add-on takes you on a helicopter mission in Vietnam to rescue wounded soldiers. The museum opened in March 2025 and is in the same area as the Rangers’ stadium. Definitely worth the time and money.

Country music in the late 70s/early 80s was the pinnacle for that genre. I don't know anyone that doesn't know/love at least a few songs from that era.

I was just thinking best male country singers ever. I'm not that big on Tom T Hall but one I do like is Marty Robbins, mainly for his Gunfighter Ballads albums. I also like Tracy Lawrence, John Anderson, Travis Tritt, Buck Owens, Earl Thomas Conley, and TG Sheppard.

Most of the country music I listen to is mainly from the "Hee Haw" era.
It's a widely known fact that George Strait is in a tie at 1st place with Keith Whitley.

I'm constantly quoting that CD. John Bean as a genius. How he toyed with Chuckie was stuff of legends.

'C n Cee.'

'What you want me tuh do.'

'Wuh, **** I wont che to pay for a new tarr n' rim, n possibly a realignment job'

'You're **** outta luck.'

After high school, I started hanging out at the Eddie's Auto in Fountain City. (There was another Eddie's Auto on Hwy 33 in Maynardville but I'm still not 100% sure which one John Bean called.) Anyways, the Eddie in Fountain City was hilarious. I'd go in and sit at the counter and watch him interact with the public and his buddies. We talked quite a bit, after he got used to me hanging around. I went in one day and he had a table leg with an 8 ball screwed to the top of it laying on the counter. I asked him if he had some trouble come in and he said "PJ Clapp and his smart 🫏 buddies were in there aggravating him". He said "one of them was acting like a Russian wanting to get gas from him and he wouldn't leave, so I bout knocked his teeth out." (He used a lot more colorful language). Eddie said "after I got him out of here, Clapp came in laughing and told me they were going to put me on TV". I said "do you know PJ Clapp?" and he said "yeah, I know his daddy and he ain't got no sense either." "They bought up about all my t-shirts and left". 🤣

*PJ Clapp is Johnny Knoxville. I had just missed them filming for an episode of Jack***.

I found this in the back of my closet the other day...20250719_212108.jpg
I bought a few shirts from Eddie while I was hanging out there but he gave me this one. I wish I would have got him to sign it. He was one of Knoxville's finest.

Congratulations or I'm sorry or rub a wet rag on it.
