Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

LOL...that may be a common story but that's not what's happening with Zac. I'm not super close to him, so I don't claim to know all his personal business, but I'm close enough that I could call him directly if I need to. He's a good guy, so no ego, drugs, hookers, etc going on. I would say his most recent music comes from zero studio pressure and him just writing stuff that connects with him personally and he's not trying to constantly write summer time country anthems.

I'll also add that I'm not a fan, so I'm not defending him because I just love his music. I only know a handful of his songs, I just happen to have a family connection to him.
Lol if you say so. All the signs are there, and his family life definitely fell apart about the same time his music started to suck. And he was "conveniently" allowed to walk away from a drug bust in his hotel room after all the starstruck cops asked him for an autograph....

What on earth happened to the Zac Brown Band? Their fall off needs to be studied, that new song they just released is garbage
I was on an SEC forum a really long time ago with a guy whose brother was the fiddle player in the Zac Brown Band and this was before anyone knew who they were. So it was sort of eerie watching their rise because I had heard Chicken Fried and thought it ridiculous, but I did enjoy the rest of that album a whole lot. Some of my favorite songs are on that record.

ZBB is one of my favorite artists, love colder weather, free, Wild Palomino, Goodbye in her Eyes, but the last couple of somgs they released just aren’t them

This was back in 2019 and claims he got his act together after that but who knows

I'm actually inclined to believe him that he's doing better now, but I'm just saying if you fry your mind and your family life with that kind of lifestyle, the music won't be the same as it was before.

I'm inclined too but I'm working on it. Doctor had me add this extra height to one of my shoes.

That happened in 2016. The discussion is now...2025. He's got a good relationship with his kids, so the family life falling apart isn't quite on point...but I'm sure you know what's up with him better than me.

Ex-wife has been pretty public on social media about him being controlling & abusive. Love the guys (band) music, but clearly has some personal issues.

I said his music fell apart when his life fell apart and he never got it back. 2017 is when his music started to suck, so you're actually proving my point.

Bigger play?
Dobbs to Jauan Jennings hail mary
Or
Chase McGrath game winning fg vs Bama '22?

Has to be Bama, right? Just saw some people arguing about this.
Different categories imo.

McGrath FG was the biggest/most important/influential play. But a fairly standard play to achieve (minus the pressure behind it).

Dobbs Nail Boot had no major impact, broke no major streaks. It didn't leave Vol Nation crying tears of joy. BUT it was the toughest game-winner there is. And we absolutely broke their souls in their home stadium. So it wins its own category.

I’ve been building this BCR chart for a few years now, and was able to correctly predict we’d cross 50% this year based on how last year’s class finished. With the new BCR numbers released yesterday, I’ve projected 2026 to hit around 59%.

I originally pulled the data using Python from the 247 Composite rankings going back to 2005, by adjusting the year in the URL (https://247sports.com/season/2025-football/compositeteamrankings/).

For each class, I counted the 4- and 5-star commits, then used a 4-year weighted average with typical roster turnover rates to estimate roster BCR.

I also scaled the numbers to match official BCR figures where available (2020, 2021, 2024, 2025).

Be cautious with anything before 2010 since the data gets a little fuzzy, but the trend since then is accurate.

TLDR: CJH is doing a damn good job recruiting, and right now it’s very likely the highest BCR we’ve had since the early 2000s.
Very cool. I've been trying to get more into Python, just don't have the time also trying to up my PowerBI. But a younger guy at work uses it a lot and builds some absolutely wild tools in very little time. Like apps that interact with sensors, scan guns, and instantly goes into a database, then outputs into a dashboard.

Did you use any specific book or training site to get into it?

Isn't rule #1 of being in a lawsuit to not make public statements about the situation? Zac Brown has a known troubled past, but I'm not going to pretend like she's the innocent one in this situation and it's 100% on him, because the details here are suspicious.

If you take this lone situation in a vacuum, he divorced her just weeks after getting married. Neither of them have said why. Then she made accusations about him publicly being abusive and controlling (then why did he initiate divorce?), he filed lawsuits for defamation. She's continued to play the court of public opinion and draw attention to herself as the victim while he's been silent and letting the courts and judge sort it out. Since then, he's actually remarried.

Maybe he sucks and she's telling the truth. Maybe he divorced her because he actually wanted his new wife. OR maybe she is a gold digger or cheated and he divorced her, then she used it as an opportunity for fame and pity and has been pandering to the public. Who knows.

I agree though, he's had/has issues. So does/did Johnny Depp. But we may see, just like the Depp situation, that she's a problem too.

Floyd. More complexity minus Zeppelin’s blues tracks. Also, as I’ve gotten older I also prefer Gilmour’s guitar to Page.
Agree.

And, hey, maybe timing matters. I found Floyd during peak college years. It's oddly nostalgic for me. I can remember walking the steps of hell up to The Hill at UT while listening to Time on my ipod.

I can also remember seeing an Australian PF band at The Tennessee Theater on one of my first dates with my (now) wife, probably 16 years ago. And seeing The Flaming Lips perform DSOTM at Bonnaroo with her as well. Awesome memories. I just don't have any connections like that to Zepp.

Also tend to angle toward psych over bluesy, while both are great. Just personal preferences and timing I suppose.

Pink Floyd (Division Bell 1994 in Miami) was the best concert (minus KISS) that I have ever seen............I gotta go Floyd!

My man, I was privileged enough to have my first concert be Pink Floyd at Vanderbilt stadium on that same tour and it was the experience of a lifetime. No Roger Waters. but still Pink Floyd. Still Rick Wright, Nick Mason and David Gilmour. I hardly knew how lucky I was at the time. No concert ever quite lived up to that experience. I will smell certain smells and it will remind me of that night.

This is my kind of convo because this is my wheelhouse. I don't think you can really compare Gilmour and Page. I know people don't realize this but many of Gilmour's best solos were written by other musicians. Sometimes Roger, sometimes session musicians. The Comfortably Numb solos were written largely by a session guitarist they hired to work on a different song. Jimmy Page could write anything on the guitar. Didn't need help. He was also a genius producer in his own right. He still handles most any Led-Zeppelin remix that's done.

I have a couple of those. Live music certainly exists somewhere in the spiritual realm.
