I’d like in dammitSaggin is in. If there are any other members who aren't going to have time to play this year there is no shame in bowing out. Just let me know as others have expressed interest! We have a 14 team league right now. We could probably do 16 if we have two more that really want to play...
Still can’t get too excited about this due to the final arbiter of talent , the NFL DRAFT.247 Blue chip ratios just came out for 2025
We are ranked 17th which is our first time making the top 18 in JH tenure. Last time we made it was maybe Fulmer era?
School BCR Alabama 89% Ohio State 89% Georgia 84% Texas A&M 82% Oregon 78% Texas 78% LSU 73% Notre Dame 73% Oklahoma 70% Penn State 68% Miami 64% Florida 64% Auburn 64% Michigan 57% USC 57% Clemson 55% Tennessee 54% Florida State 54%
Obviously we need to get better but its good to see us make this list again.
That’s doesn’t instill confidence in me, that just makes me realize how my fat, balding self is screwed if my sexy wife ever leaves me.View attachment 756423
Christie disagrees.
Everyone got trounced by Ohio state. They were up over thirty on Oregon. Lol. If we had played anyone else, it’s a close game and likely a win against half the teams in the playoff. We're not elite, though. That's the point, and the roster talent composition points to the reason why. To elevate Tennessee to Georgia and Ohio State level, Heupel has to keep stacking 10-win seasons, which in turns boosts recruiting, and then he has to start consistently landing top 10 classes with occasional top 5 classes. It's a process to get there and he's following the path to do it.
30 wins in three seasons and getting trounced first round of the 12-team playoff isn't top tier. It's good, and better than just about anyone expected in Jan. 2021, but it's not elite.
There is a top tier separate from us and it's teams that win national championships. We aren't there yet. There's a team in that tier that we haven't beaten in almost a decade. Getting there is insanely difficult, especially if you aren't in a super talent-rich state. Plenty of very good coaches get to good or even great but not elite.
That's why I'm saying 10-year rebuild. He's halfway there. The next five years is about taking the next step and maintaining it. It's a whole rebuild in and of itself.
