Less jostling there!

It's hard to fail when you recruit as good as they do. I would be shocked if they win less than 10 games this year. @Georgia will be rough for them and @South Carolina is sneaky. Then, there is always playing at Auburn...
I hear ya but Bama finishing 6-8 in conference for a 2nd yr in a row won’t go over well with the toofless.

Recruiting is no longer the best measure of how a team is going to stack up now that the portal is a thing. It's cheaper to invest in recruiting than it is to spend in the portal. Many teams are supplementing losses to the portal and the inability to fill holes by recruiting guys that there's no guarantee they will keep around all 3-4 years.

I'm really looking forward to hearing our new Vols Radio Network team this season.

@peaygolf
Coach Faris was on with Will & Ramon this morning, in the fourth hour.

I actually was on my way to work and heard it.......
I've heard him speak and like him...............today wasn't his best effort.

Ramon needs to know Peay isn't in the OVC anymore as well..... :)

I am not trying to start a war here, but in big games the last couple of years, we’ve been nowhere close to elite.
‘23 UF, Mizzou, Ga
‘24 ark, ga, osu
Opponents were 75% passing, 59% 3rd down, including a couple of 7-8 ypc games and multiple 6-10 minute drives given up because we couldn’t get off the field.
We have to do better. Safeties 25 yards off the ball in 3rd and 5 won’t cut it, nor will dropping Josephs 15 yards deep on a 3rd and 7 telegraphed zone blitz.
Banks is ok. He’s not elite and not fooling anyone with a decent qb. You can’t give up 300 yards passing at a 75% clip and 60% 3rd downs and 35-40 minutes TOP over 5-6 big games and be elite at the same time.
Banks got here in 2021. Here is the NCAA total defense rankings by year for us since he arrived.

2021- 90th
2022- 37th
2023- 22nd
2024- 7th

Points per game:

2021- 29
2022- 23
2023- 20
2024- 16

Sorry but this is elite. Your argument is invalid.

😣 ouch.

I hope he is going to do a good job. Worked for Cutcliffe for a long time.

Stats can be twisted to whatever point one wants to make and I dont like bend but don’t break.
There’s nothing invalid about pointing out 75% completion rate and 60% 3rd down conversions given up in 5 big losses isn’t elite.
I could care less about holding Chattanooga or Kennesaw St down and climbing up the points allowed ladder.

Arkansas & SCar can git too
I do like the SEC having 12 teams and a conference championship game. NCAA/ESPN/Sankey are trying their best to make it useless and I will miss it when it's gone.

Arkansas came into the SEC hot in basketball but other than Nolan Richardson's run, I view them as a SWC/big 12 school. Their baseball squad is good for our SOS (currently), but it feels like having another Ole Miss/MSU school in our conference..... similar to how Oklahoma will be in a few more seasons.

USCjr is an ACC school all the way. They always have been and always will be. If I had to compare them with another SEC school, I think they're a mix of kentucky football and georgia basketball...... with nothing to really show for it. (I'm not counting women's basketball in this discussion.)
