U r pretty emotional because I pointed out arky qb had one of his best games of the year against us. If you think he had a bad day and we held him in check, support your stance.
Otherwise, eat a snickers.
Fact is the last 2 years Banks defense does generally fine against inferior comp but gave up 75% completion rate and 60% 3rd down conversions in 6 losses to Ga (2), Arky, UF, Mizzou and OSU, which is not elite. Far from it.
Last year we held Bama to 17, Arky to 19, and Fl to 23. If the offense doesn’t suck two of those three, we win them all.

Think it’s also fair to point out that most of the games you’re talking about are conference road games, which are notoriously difficult. Bama gave up 40 to Vandy. Georgia gave up 28 to Ole Miss. OSU gave up 31 to Oregon. Our defense hasn’t had near the talent of those three teams, yet we’ve still gonna pretty well. Every team has off games.

I am really excited about Star Thomas this year. He reminds me of a slightly slower version of Sampson (both of whom hail from Louisiana). He is an incredibly patient runner, but once he finds an opening he can accelerate. He is efficient at breaking arm tackles especially when he gets to the edges of the defense. He is also a weapon out of the backfield which is something we desperately need to utilize more. I think he is going to be productive in this offensive especially with the light boxes we so often see.

No one gets it done every game. However in the case of Banks, his defense conveniently fell apart in every game where the defensive line wasn't dominant on every snap. I watch other teams have a secondary that is capable of compensating for lack of pressure but I can't say I've ever seen that here one time in the Heupel era.

Kevin Steele was an elite DC too. Right up until he got fired in his very first season without RG on his staff.

No you don’t.

Outside of a few plays you won’t see a secondary having consistent success if the D isn’t putting pressure on the QB.

Wow 4 of our backs are plus or minus a doughnut of 210, one is at 195. Gonna be a fun group to watch. Maybe another by committee year.

all it took was watching the unc duke game to see the blueprint for how we will use him this year. salivating over what our backfield's potential is rn

he is a dude

You know what I mean. Defenses can be very successful while giving the QB on average 3-4 seconds to throw. It happens every Saturday and happened to us routinely. Our passing game was shut down all year and it wasn't because Nico was on his back as soon as he got the snap.

Meanwhile our defense is either dominant with pressure that looks like this:

Or looking very below average.

Not emotional at all. Just calling out bs when people use key words suggesting they are something more themselves. As for the Banks argument, Arkansas scored 19 points which is the only stat that matters. The offense no showed against one of the worst defenses in the SEC. That was the reason for the loss. Everything else is just video game analysis. You can take most teams losses and see stats that don't align with a teams wins. This isn't earth shattering information

All of them need to go. The conferences are so dumb right now. Just make it make sense again.

I was watching Stanford / UCLA play football on the ACC channel the other night. It's lame. I miss the rivalries
Smaller conferences and regional rivalries is better for the fans. They're not focused on the fans.

It was bc Nico didn’t see the field worth a sh*t. He missed so many open guys (both by missing targets and by not seeing them bc he couldn’t read the field) it’s not even funny.

Secondaries do not consistently have success when the D isn’t putting pressure on the QB. It just doesn’t happen. Unless the WRs have only one leg or the QB just isn’t up to snuff.
