Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Not sure I'm a fan of the staff's recruiting strategy this cycle. Narrow target list with little to no fallback options. At RB, it seems it's Hiter or bust. We have to hope to flip Keys and maybe get Moa out of Utah to complete our WR class. OL recruiting has been solid, especially if we land Blair tomorrow. I'd still really like to land Grey. QB is solid, TE is fine as long as Sneed stays committed. Defensively, LB recruiting is excellent. Edge recruiting is good. Wish we would find a couple of more big guys for the DL. Lots of projects in the secondary. Could work out. Could bite us in the ass. Time will tell. Feeling like we may have to potentially lean into the portal if we fail to land some guys, and we often seem hesitant to go after top guys.

@TN-POSSUM - Is that on topic enough?
Just because you don’t know the plan, doesn’t mean it’s not there and working just like the staff wants it to work. I agree with the approach of not taking the money first mercenaries. It’s working very well for CTV in baseball.

It will take a little longer for football, but it’s happening. Just be patient.

And remember

17-0 🤠

Well, that didn’t take long!

Do you know for sure they're only targeting 1 WR and HB ? What if they don't want anyone to know their plan ?

Did I do that right @MarcoVol ?

He also conveniently ignores the offense’s inability to stay on the field. Tough for a defense when they play 40min
I didn’t ignore it. Offense was bad.
300 yards and 75% passing just isn’t “elite” defense.

I thought once you decide to go pro you cant comeback to college.

I assume they mean he will return to the TAMU campus and train with the team until next year. But who knows. Maybe he'll sue the NCAA and get another year because the rules aren't real anymore.

I would also assume that is mostly posturing and making it look to the Bengals like he has a plan to miss the season.

You’ve gotta be kidding putting ARK on there 😆 we gave up 19 freaking points
That game was on Nico. And the Special Teams play.

Anyway, what concerns me about Keys is the resurgence of Tamu. Seems like its all love TN then commits to LSU.

Since we have nothing else to talk about, AM has 4 WR committed, a questionable offense, and is led by a cult. How do we go from team to beat, back to another school in the fray?

Felt very good coming out of the OV. Anyone seeing any news out there?
