Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

McCoy is back at practice 7 months after an ACL tear with no knee brace on. The improvement in ACL surgery over the years is incredible. EDIT: It is individual work, so he is not a full participant yet but it is still a good sign.

Yeah watching that, there's no way it takes until mid October for him to be back.

Sorry for being late.

August 8, 2025: Times are changing, and you will have to pay attention to the changes you will need to make in order to keep up. There are things around you that are difficult to accept, but you have no control over where others are or what they do. Stay centered and focused on where you are and what you need to do, says the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:10b-12 But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more; that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.

Gotta feeling he’s going to eat into PLew carries, I hope I’m wrong and PLew is RB1. But Bishop has that look in his eye and determination. Every man knows the look, he’s determined to be RB1. We’ll see how it shakes out.
I really like the RB room. I feel it is very underrated.

I still think they should've, at least, re-tooled Vols Calls. They could have made it where players answer questions or something. Seems like a waste and mistake to cut off direct fan interaction by killing an outlet that has been around for nearly 4 decades.
If another broadcast (Basillo or Swain) could do something at Calhoun's to replace or replicate Vols Calls it would probably be a pretty big hit.

White Sox wear shorts

Over the course of more than 30 years at the helm of four different franchises, legendary baseball executive Bill Veeck was known for his antics, promotions and gags. On Aug. 8, 1976, Veeck outdid himself when he had his Chicago White Sox players take the field wearing shorts in lieu of traditional baseball pants.

I've literally never heard a single person say a good thing about him. I was a kid at the time and had anti-Vols kids heckle me about how they heard from so-and-so that Dooley was a prick.

Pruitt was also an a-hole but his players mostly loved him (Juaun for example). Nobody liked Dooley.

Pruitt’s just a dumb son of a bitch. No interiority.

Dooley is a deeply selfish narcissist with self destructive ā€œdrag everyone downā€ behavior deeply ingrained into him

He’ll set Georgia back if elected & those saying otherwise are dense

I’m not trying to lose weight, but know several who are. Apx how many calories are needed to be in the sweet spot above starvation mode and remain in a calorie deficit in order to lose weight from fat loss? What’s the time frame a person can not eat yet still avoid starvation mode - 8 hours, 16 hours, etc?

We’ve sent a man to the moon, yet there still appears to be a lack of consensus in the medical field on something as basic as what and how much food to consume to optimize one’s health. Hopefully RFK Jr will continue shaking up this industry.
Have we really though?

I agree. Especially if they invited athletes and offered up NIL chances. If you look at the revised programming the one element they completely erased was fan involvement. At minimum they should open up a twitter question opportunity. It feels very sanitized and disconnected to remove any chance for a fan to ask something of the program and it's leaders.

Pic my boy just sent me from Bristol...they have spent all week removing their rental equipment...that is his flatbed rig down on the infield to the right. He is waiting on the breakdown guys to get finished so they can load what is left up and he walked up the bank to the wall...he said it's crazy how steep it is.

I agree with the Twitter or some kind of social media questions, as that would allow you to weed through the horrible questioning. NIL involvement would be an excellent idea as well.

I spent a week in India earlier this year. For a short trip, I was able to see different parts of the country - Delhi area, coastal area, and southern/inland communities. I’ll go back one day. I want to see the northern areas around Bangladesh and Nepal.

But there was no shortage of šŸ‘€ moments. It felt like there was a much lower value on life there.

Going down an escalator, you see the support/girding holding the structure in place. I guess the designers planned poorly, and the support for the upper escalator didn’t reach far enough to connect to the support for the lower escalator. No problem, they just stacked multiple, random sized, about half-inch thick steel plates to shim it up. Good to go!

And roadways are chaos. On one drive from the coast to an inland town, I checked the driving route on my phone before leaving, and on Google maps, the roadway I had to take was like a dotted line. I thought it was strange, until I came to the first of many sudden turn offs to a dirt/gravel access road. Turns out that this major highway was still under construction, and they were building it in about 5 mile sections. You’re driving along, enjoying smooth 6-lane highway driving for 5 miles. Then with little advanced warning, everyone veers off to a 1.5 lane access road you share with cattle-drawn carts, pedestrians and folks on bicycles. Incredibly, even on the stretches of highway - traveling at night with low visibility - there were people crossing the highway on foot. Talk about white-knuckle driving.

Eating was an adventure too.
That is one place I have zero desire to ever visit.
