People need to realize two things about Auburn.
1) They are as physical running the ball as anyone in the country
2) They have maybe the best offensive mind in the college game pulling the strings.
People think it's a gimmick offense but they're runners aren't being touched early on a lot of plays.
IMO, it isn't that difficult. He has a good OL, a talented RB, and a QB who makes good decisions and will burn you in the run. If a team has a good DL, they can disrupt the run game and force Marshall to throw. If you do that, you can beat Auburn.
Saw a stat where mizz only has 3 player's in their two deep that are espn 300 recruits. Either they're coaching them up very well or really good at evaluating lower ranked players. I figured their current success would help them in recruiting but their class is ranked dead last in the sec. They're class is ranked 33rd overall which isn't terrible but I thought it'd be a little better than that. Crazy all 14 sec teams are ranked in the top 33. I'm curious if the worst class in the sec has ever been higher than 33 before.
Just a Random thought but do y'all think some of these teams that run the spread will take a long look at auburn's offense this off season and start to use some or maybe a lot of the plays they run? Or would that be something that you'd have to commit fully to bc of all the different formations and different things you can do from those different looks?
They have a system. They get guys who will grow into what they want. Their system works. I knew that as their talent increased their success would follow. Didnt figure itd be this fast, but I knew there are 2-star and 3-star players they coached up all over the NFL.Saw a stat where mizz only has 3 player's in their two deep that are espn 300 recruits. Lots of teams do run it. Lots of teams dont have Auburns talent. Somehow, everybody has forgotten about what AU looked like the year after Cam Newton. And this year they cant throw to save their lives.Just a Random thought but do y'all think some of these teams that run the spread will take a long look at auburn's offense this off season and start to use some or maybe a lot of the plays they run? Did you not watch Bama try this?
He didn't read where I stated they are probably the most physical team running the ball in the country. Ask Saban how it feels to give up 296 yards on the ground to Auburn. Tre Mason was getting to the safeties on the regular.
Yes, I did. I said they have a good OL and RB. Maybe you didnt read what i said. But what Malzahn does is not difficult or rocket science. It gives his QB an option and puts his playmakers in space. Bama's defensive line is not what it used to be and they still should have won.
How should they have won? They missed the FGs and got outplayed plain and simple. Saban blew the game with that stupid call to try a long FG.
