He's already played in three games so he's seen it already. Does that change your opinion?
Personally, I don't have much of an opinion myself. If he's ready, I'd think having another body in the rotation would be a good thing. If he sits, he might get another year. Either way.
The bottom line is that the defensive linemen in the NFL are so massive and with the rules set as they are, it is in their best interests to throw the ball. It's not exactly a secret that the NFL is continuing to move away from its running-friendly roots. Through Week 11, this has been the most pass-happy season in league history. Teams are averaging 26.9 rushing attempts per game, which would be the first time NFL teams would fail to hit 27 running plays per game. Receptions per game are also at an all-time high NFL teams are averaging 21.9 completions per game and 239.6 passing yards per game, which would both be league records. Now 69.9 percent of yards from scrimmage come on passing plays
Right before bed last night, I was watching some SEC Football show on Fox Sports. The guys on there said they don't think we can pull out this "upset"... and then they were riding JF's nuts. They were loving some Vandy
No, 3 more would be a huge benefit too - also at that point we still had MO Couch so he wasnt "counted on" so to speak and likely wasnt playing a ton of snaps in those games
now he would know that if playing it would likely be a lot of snaps in games that are critically important to win and mean he really needs to know what he is doing and prepare appropriately
so imo it would still be beneficial
He has attended games at Alabama, Auburn, and Clemson as well. He is going to Tennessee this weekend and he is looking at more than just the football team when on these visits.
"I am trying to take it all in," said White. "I am looking at the town to see if it is a place I want to live. I am looking for a place I can be for four years and a place I feel comfortable at living there, how the academics are, the football team, and all of that. It is more than just football for me."
This is an interesting read on the NFL running game.
Rushing attempts in the are dwindling as are the yards per carry stats across the league. The bottom line is that the defensive linemen in the NFL are so massive and with the rules set as they are, it is in their best interests to throw the ball.
A running game is important if you are trying to run the clock out or if you have a short yardage situation. And maybe, at times, to change the pace when the defense is playing pass and you think you have a better chance of picking up more yardage on the ground than passing it.
The days of the running back being the show piece of an offense are almost gone. Why pay a RB top dollar when you can get 2-3 cheap RBs to do what the franchise RB did for 10 x the money?
What Has Happened to the NFL's Running Game?
Victim's lawyer critical of police in Winston case - WFLA News Channel 8Looks to me like the case isn't going anywhere. The girl isn't cooperating anymore and seems like she's had enough of the process.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - The attorney representing the alleged victim in a sexual assault investigation involving Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston says her client never said she did not want to press charges.
Patricia Carroll said Wednesday it's not true that the case about the alleged December 2012 assault was placed on hold because the victim did not want to prosecute, as a Tallahassee official told city commissioners in an email.
Carroll says the alleged victim was trying to get on with her life after it became apparent the Tallahassee Police Department was not seriously investigating the case. TPD did not respond to calls seeking comment.
Offensive linemen are big too. Shifting away from the running game is all about rule changes making it easier for QBs and WRs.
Combine the reality of 300-350-400 defensive linemen eating space, players getting bigger and stronger than ever, injuries to RBs, and rules that favor the WR and QB and you have the perfect storm ingredients for throwing the football. You are crazy not to do so.
How long before the college game is in the same place?
Bruin...you've backed yourself in a corner my man. Half the friggin RF has you on ignore.
