Seeing the guys hit the oversized 'I will give my all for Tennessee today' sign was so tight. Man I'm ready for football and its so far away.

If Richardson continues to get bigger, stronger, quicker, and improves, he and Clowney could go 1-2 in the 2014 NFL Draft.

I wonder why Gillespie would want to take a $40,000 cut in pay to come here? I know its the SEC but he had a chance to coach at FL. Don't get me wrong would love to have him. Just wondering out loud.

Why would he have to take a pay cut? He made 300,000 last year and JG made 260,000(I think). Rumors were CBJ offered to match FSU's offer to keep CJG. Would not be shocked to see us offer 300-325 to a qualified RB coach who can recruit.

Have you been to Morgantown?

Yea actually your right. I read that article and just assumed that the was he salary range but I did forget that CBJ matched FSU's offer. Sorry for the brain fart. :hi:

It always seesm that alot of the kids who can't get into SEC schools end up at WV. I wonder how many of those kids WV signed from FL could not have got into UT? I think that was said to be part of JG's issues with recruiting here at Tennessee.

Are you looking for something negative or am I reading this wrong?

Bottom line the guy has major ties to Florida and I think thats the point he was trying to make.

Not being negative at all. I think it's a fair question. Of the 10 kids he signed out of FL, how many could not have been recruited/signed by Tennessee?

While looking at the WV board, I noticed this was one thing said:

"RG may be a good recruiter, and improved our fumble problems from under Beatty, but lets not act as if he is this elite position coach. Out of the two runnng back recruits he signed out of Florida, one quit the team, and one was academicaly inelgible".

IMO, CRG looks to be a solid hire and better than some other names I have seen mentioned.

It's a fair questions, but I think he would be able to attract better talent out of FL to UT who would be eligible.

If RG is hired, he will do well here.

I would call it a wash.

That's where I am with it. Which is fine at this late stage in the game.

Devil's advocate: WV should know all about being academically ineligible. I would inagine that is a risk with many of their best recruits.

Also, the player who quit probably HAD to got to WV due to grades, and bounced because he didn't like it

WVA isnt Marshall.

WVA does have more lenient policies but a lot of FL kids who went up there werent academic casualties.

in the other article it said he was key in landing andrew buie so idk about this

We also interviewed Tony Ball from Georgia today. He accepted UGA's counter and will be staying in Athens.

Per FootballScoop

That must be the "mystery SEC coach" mentioned on Swain today

That gets a boom from me. We went after Ball from UGA and RG. I think that shows CBJ knows what it takes. Welcome to VolNation CRG!
