I hate to say it but UT just has some kind of stink on it right now. Players and former players aren't willing to come because I believe they understand we have bigger issues up top in the AD and we won't be good until those issues are resolved. When you have one of the lowest paid staffs in the SEC you are gonna get what you pay for. I hope Butch is the answer and does well but I am in now way optimistic about the next three years.
Why not be somewhat optimistic? I don't see it getting any worse lol
That is how Chaney wanted it. In fact, a lot of OCs do that now,at the collegiate level. That was discussed in some of the post practice interviews last season. There is noway that scouts won't question his mental ability to run an offense. We'd get to the line last year and Bray would look over to Chaney to makethe checks that you would expect an nfl QB to make. Ipm not going to say he can't do these thongs because I'm not 100% convinced that Chaney wasn't just a micromanager, but there is certainly an air of uncertainty about the topic.

Ainge said it was wasn't for much more money, and he is going to be the recruiting coordinator.
We matched the offer.
I don't fault Graham one iota. He made a career/business decision. The RC title meant a lot to him and not retaining it at UT hurt his pride. The RC title carries some weight when looking for advancement or leverage for a raise.

It was also said that he hadn't shown he could take the reigns, and that was part of why Chaney wanted it that way. The whole "putting up huge numbers" argument is so short sided. Plenty of record setting college QBs were not good NFL QBs, and they didn't have the elite supporting cast Bray had.
I'm not blasting him, I just think the concerns over his mental game are legit. No one has a better arm, and he's an elite college QB. Just not sold on his ability to be elite in the NFL.
It wasn't about the money IMO. Graham was scheduled to make $260K this year. He got a $35K raise when CBJ got here.
Lol. Multiple reports of him feeling out of place on the staff have been stated. The money thing is a clear reflection of where he was considered to fit in the pecking order. I stated when the salaries came out that azzani's salary was a slap in his face and all you had was ridicule for my thoughts. Clearly your expert knowledge in all of your fair market value talk of this situation was completely wrong!

Jones pushed his chips in then that his system would break the SEC mold. After this recruiting season, he may have begun to wonder. Will be interesting.
