Our coach is pretty much the man, just saw he retweeted this haha

@UTCoachJones how about a retweet on my wedding day. She is a vols fan can't go wrong there....I don't think I was her first choice either

I didn't know where to put this and though you guys might be interested in reading this.
I'm no recruiting genius but logic says we should have been able to 'cherry pick' some of the better guys on this list. I realize we don't have enough in-state talent to win in the SEC, but we could have enough to give us a strong core of Tn kids. Maybe I'm wrong but I think we need kids who literally bleed orange to build around. JMHO

not sure how many recruits CBJ has met with, but just wondering if he has impressed thus far in the living room battles? anyone? anyone?

I don't think him and his girl are together anymore..and I only know that because I saw it on twitter.

she is an absolute dime by the way.

Jones would be the first of his former HC coaches to hire him. I am not seeing any evidence Of him being a good recruiter other than a quote from UM before he hired him and from BB made about him. Neither one hired him on their next stops and I think at best we can hope he is a great teacher because recruiting wise this is a huge drop off from Hinshaw IMO.

HG' post in case you missed it, Bruin...

"Azzanni was a solid hire for what was left on the board. Sure there were a few guys who were better names but being a new coach at a new school you want guys who fit you system. Crazy that some wanted Latrell Scott again or even a guy like Lamar Thomas who got run off by UM. Coaches get fired bc it's part of the business. Meyer reached out to Azzanni but he already had a job at the time so Meyer kept Stan Drayton on staff."

I saw the post and it confused me. When is he saying he reached out to azzanni but kept drayton??

That timeline isn't matching from what I know

cliffnotes:
Zach was the WRC at UF for one year...Meyer stepped down in 2011. ZA became the OC at WKU after leaving UF for one season then became WRC at Wisc. Meyer got hired at tOSU..reached out to ZA but he stayed at Wisc so CUM kept Stan Drayton who was already on staff at tOSU and worked under him at UF.

Thanks for the answer but unless I totally misread it the WR coach at OHS isn't drayton but one of CUM GAs at florida.

FWIW...This is what his Wiki page says:

In January 2011, Drayton was hired as a Wide Receivers Coach by the Ohio State Buckeyes. Following the 2011 season, he was reassigned to the role of Running Backs Coach, under new head coach Urban Meyer (his former boss and mentor at Florida).
