Not Bielema?! You have to be joking. He's by far the best hire this year of any school. And Pittman is a home run too. Chaney with the right HC is very good too.

You need defensive talent to stop people. When you hire Dooley part II,you will have a roster full of two and three stars. You boys better lower your expectations. Tennessee football just got the plugged pulled on Dec. 7th,2012.

I Am curious how many people would trade staffs now with Arkansas???

I certainy wouldn't. Bielema is a very subpar recruiter and now he is getting away from what works for him on offense. Jones believes in what has won for him in the past and apparently Bielema doesn't have that same confidence

Jones is an offensive guy, Bielema is a defensive guy. Recruiting is the only unknown with Bielema, but I'd take him. Similar record to Jones in a harder conference.

Im thinking thats more because of the talent we had and them having the experience they had together, besides CP of course. The first 2 years our O was up and down and just like this year, very predictable. We just got lucky to be the like Bama, but with the passing game. Everyone knew what we were gonna do and knew what plays we were gonna run, we just had too much talent to stop it. That has less to do with coaching than with a players natural ability to out perform the person trying to stop them.

It was just a surprise Bielema took the job, not a HR hire. I would be in the damn dumps if UT had hired Bielema. Chaney can be "good" but not a HR hire. Pittman is not a HR hire.

That is half the battle. Most of the coaches held in high esteem have great players playing for them.

Always had a good big rb and matched with good the lines both sides but never had skilled players at all. Wilson came from the acc. Just outmuscled a very mediocore big 10. Urban trying to change the image.OSU undefeated this yr but OT to Purdue/Wisc and central florda and cal games. But the big 10 is very overrated football. usually 1 or 2 decent teams and the rest soso. Bielema and Pelini about the same I think Jones better but I guess time will tell.

I'm surprised that Bielema hired Chaney. Like you said thats a complete 180 from what he did at Wisconsin. I think most thought when Bielema was hired he was going to bring smash mouth football to Arkansas. Maybe this new direction will work but I just don't think as a HC you don't go away from what you know best and has been working for you.

I wouldn't trade staff's but I'm still hoping CBJ finds another DC. Maybe he has someone in mind he wants to make a run at after the bowl games.

I think it would be a tight vote if you polled the masses. Tee would have certainly tipped the scales. As it stands I like our team.

I would.

Bielema was the best hire so far IMO, adding Chaney & Pittman was a great great move by him.

I'm actually very surprised Bielema didn't bring his OC from Wisconsin with him. I was very impressed by his running game calling & the way he schemed his running game in the few games I watched of them this past season.

I agree with BruinVol. I think Bielema is a good coach and have even openly stated it was a better hire but CJC doesn't have an offense that will win championships. He can put-up points but doesn't know how to call a winning game. He doesn't understand momentum of a game, how to help a defense out, not to call 30yd verticals on 3rd and 1, etc. TN's D was horrific but the offense wasn't helping them out any either.

Pittman was a great hire.

Then Bielema will have to teach Chaney how to do so because he is clueless when it comes to a run game. Considering Chaney couldn't teach Bray how to read a defense or call an audible in 3yrs I'm not worried about him going there. I am just glad Chaney isn't in Knoxville anymore.
