It looks like the SEC is using the NIL rules to muscle the NCAA out and become the defacto rulers of college athletics. With the exception of a handful of schools from the BIG we would have the majority of the major schools. Then we just tell those other schools they are welcomed to join us and the NCAA has nothing except the small never gonna win anything schools and the FCS schools. The. They have no power over us.

Not good. Birmingham gonna rule everyone. And multiple regions would be in serious danger. Smaller programs would die off. Don't want some league with 20 schools from southeast and 4 from up north. Terrible for the national game. And all for greed...

Also don't see the SEC wanting to be the rulemaking and enforcement body for everyone. Sankey don't want that heat, even if it's just the schools themselves doing all the rulemaking. Would take years and tons of movement to become that...plus push back from everyone outside of Bham. And all for what? Once you take out all the G5/smaller programs wanting balance, the only members will be major p5 programs and money will be the end to every decision, the long-term health of the sport be damned.

And when is the last time that has happened? We haven’t even been to the championship game since 2007. And we think adding more good teams will help us get there? How will you like watching playing elite teams week in and out and getting our faces smeared? That’s fun?

You go to the ACC and you will not get as talented players to watch because the really good ones will and do play in the SEC. The ISSUE has been the administration and the coaches who have been hired. Bad coach and be blah in the ACC as well. Get a coaching staff that develops and knows how to run UT with the right administration and we will be fine and not worry about Ohio State or Alabama just like we did not worry about them when we had everyone pulling in the right direction and a staff with stability. It is that simple but the question is will UT supporters get all on the same dang page. Up to Body and White to make it happen.

The whole ACC thing is a moot point, but UT recruits itself and always has. You know this. We never needed the SEC tag to get good players, just as we didn't before the SEC was a hype machine, c'mon.

Agree with the rest. But the path is still going to become only harder with 2 more talented teams added.

365 sports (from Texas) is saying it's clear the NCAA as a governing body is going away. Soon.

Then the question becomes - who will the universities (the people always in charge) choose to be their next governing, rulemaking, and enforcement body? The SCCA? The SEC? Same stuff, new day as long as the universities are still behind the wheel. Only it will be less about the players and even more about the end money, since it will be a concentrated group of the "haves" and not a body representing 300+ schools. The power struggle will be immense when only a few dozen schools are involved...more politicking.

Right now, we have no idea.

NBC sucks at Olympics coverage. No one wants to watch men's beach volleyball

Olympics are trash. We turned it on at my grandmother's house and they were showing Women's 3 on 3 Half Court Basketball. What the absolute ****?!?! Since when is that an Olympic sport.

Men are competing against women.
People are playing sports nobody cares about.
