Tried tuning into the lady vols for a second. First thing I hear is Holly Rowe and some other lady bitc**** about the women not having equitable facilities compared to the men. If you had an equitable product, they would invest the same amount of money. They should be thankful for what they have.
Hate to say it, but that's just the truth of the matter, and no one wants to own it. They'd rather scream "misogyny!". It has nothing to do with misogyny. The men generate so much more revenue than the ladies do. If they want to complain, their ire should be directed more at fans who don't attend games and help them be a real revenue sport. If so-called "activists" want to make a difference, tell them to buy tickets. When ladies' basketball catches up to men's in revenue, then they'll have a legit misogyny argument if unequal treatment continues, but until then, it's all about the money. And I say that as someone who enjoys watching the Lady Vols play. I was at UT when Lady Vol games were much more entertaining than watching the guys lose. The inequality is not about gender, it's about revenue.Tried tuning into the lady vols for a second. Seems like a great time to post this picView attachment 358482
Revenue disparity between the sports is real. Most college women's basketball programs operate at a fiscal loss. Screaming about gender inequality won't help that. People buying tickets will. That's not being sexist, that's just being truthful.thats about one of the most sexist and ridiculous comments ive heard. take a lap.
I have not seen it, nor do I have an opinion on what they "deserve". I'm speaking to the real reason for the disparity. It's not about their gender as many are trying to make it.Lol Did you see what they had for a “weight room”? I have a better set up at home.....in my garage. They are D1 athletes.
Even if one doesn’t think they “deserve” equitable treatment, you can’t seriously think you know anything at all about college athletics if you believe what they had was acceptable.
One of these days you peeps will realize the NCAA doesn’t give a rip about the athletes. They just care about money. Which goes against the whole argument of “they’re amateurs we can’t pay them” but that’s a whole other convo. Main point being NCAA is a joke and they F’d up.
the comment 'they shoukd be thankful for what they have' in my mind equates to 'they should know their place in line'. This isnt 1951.Revenue disparity between the sports is real. You presented your argument coherently, and, eloquently. While I am well acquainted with revenue disparities, I laud her for using her position in media to bring about awareness. Weez, to your pt theres a way to say things and a way to not say them bra.
The delivery was terrible, but the point is fundamentally correct. All major athletics are driven by the money they generate, and investment is gong to be tied to return. It's simple economics. Of course this outrage will force changes that cost money, and programs will be forced to evaluate whether the return is worth the investment. If the answer is no, programs get cut.
