Charles Davis not a candidate?

I realized today that Charles Davis gets royalties for being the voice of Madden games. He may lose that if he becomes AD. He might get a better salary as AD than CBS, but I bet Madden pays nice money.

Im curious, (don’t come at me) why is it an anonymous person on a message board “can’t say much” but local and national media, local radio hosts and local reporters can provide nuggets (info) on what they are hearing, short lists and other info without revealing their sources or burning bridges?

Because what gets to media was leaked on purpose..... Usually. What boosters leak can sabotage efforts.

UT has done a lot of stupid things for a lot of stupid reasons. Not wanting to bring Kiffin back after what he did here would hardly be one of them.

I think the forgive and forget game is easy to play by people who didn't have skin in the game then and don't have skin in the game now.

And just for the record I would be very happy to have Kiffin back. But I could not blame the administration at all of he's blacklisted forever. It would be well deserved, even if it would be a shame.

NCAA punishing Pruitt or University?

I think a show cause is very possible. As for NCAA taking it easy on Tennessee, that's their hope and why they took the action they took today (Im sure that was Glazier's recommendation). The problem is the large number of violations by the program including the head coach. Does the NCAA see Tennessee as failure to monitor/institutional control

Truth is I am sad About this day.
I don’t think we recover for at least a decade. I’d bet we don’t win 10 games or go to Atlanta this entire decade after what’s happened today.

usc took a tumble and we’re on much better footing. We don’t have nearly as far to fall but we won’t rise any quicker than they have from this mess

USC’s tumble has less to do with sanctions and more to do with continuing to ride with a mediocre or worse HC in Helton.

Plowman wants to hire the right kind of people to run Tennessee the right way. She's spoken about it numerous times. She emphasizes ethics, morals, trust and integrity. She would have a hard time reconciling that with hiring people with questionable business practices, shaky ethics or allegations of misdeeds-- especially after waving such a big broom before the NCAA.

He’s not going to be interim this fall. They’re going to hire a good coach. They’re not going through all this investigation mess just to give the job to Fulmers buddy like this.

He’s here because he’s cheap and he can calm down the current team and recruits for a couple weeks and then likely be the DC.

I was just about to post the same thing sorta. I believe finally, we are doing the search right this time compared to the last two that was so chaotic. I do feel Plowman and Boyd understand how important this hire really is to UT football. This will be done with order and the best hire they can possibly find. Laugh at me if you want but I really feel that for the first time in years we are doing it right. I like most of you have been in here for the last four hires. The last two was like a fire sale and in a panic. I really feel this Admin has a plan.

AP has a good point
that program went 30-94 from 97-07

The coach before Steele went 4-18

The coach after steele went 18-42

And Briles went 8-16 his first two years

obviously Briles turned it around but it was an awful job at that time just like AP said
