Swain reported yesterday that Steele has talked to Henry T, he (Henry T) was pleased with the hire and it's his understanding (Swain) as of yesterday Henry T see's Steele a very capable coach on D to continue to develop him.

Also, Swain thinks we hear something regarding JP very soon today. TIFWIW


Edit: Swains tone about HT (referred to him as one of our best players) has changed this morning. Seems very, very concerned about going to Alabama. Stating, whatever happens, please don't tweet him, parents etc after the news.

Appreciate it! I think Steele was hired solely to help keep our kids in the program (especially Too Too) and help recruiting. If this was Phil’s call, it was very smart to do before firing Pruitt. Still scares me to death that they might try to give him the HC role. Hopefully not.

The booster situation is one of our biggest problems. We don't have an AD. We have factions and the guy who has the title of AD has to work with and through them and they are often at war with one another. Alabama had this exact situation and eventually they reached a point of absolute desperation and the boosters finally surrendered money and most importantly, power. That is the only reason they landed Saban. Until our boostes and power players surrender their power to an actual AD and that AD is empowered to hire a big name we will continue to fail. Sadly, I have no faith in our boosters. I think the difference between them and the aforementioned Bama boosters is that ours don't care about winning. They have other issues on their minds. The Bama guys and the boys from Mississippi (both schools) are/were boosters that gave a damn about winning. As the Mississippi boys showed you don't need to be the wealthiest school if your power players give a damn -- even Arkansas boosters gave a damn.

Look on the bright side, every coach on our hot board will be available next year. If we keep Pruitt and he doesn’t improve and we fire him this year, those coaches we are after will still be there. Who knows, maybe one more year of Freeze at Liberty would be enough. Chadwell has another year also. Maybe Herman

Worth a shot.

I think if Pruitt is gone there might be some other candidates than Marrone or Chadwell. Brohm, Fuente, Fleck, Holiday, Herman. Just depends on how deep this NCAA thing goes and it would have to be a coach willing to take on Steele.
