That firm was used by the University in that cause. I wouldn't over read into that. LSU has used that firm three times in the last couple of years and haven't fired anyone.

Depends on what your defenition of a bagman is. It was my understanding that players were just given credit cards/cash to show recruits a good time which is pretty standard from my experience even at a small school. I don't think they were making legit tens of thousands dollar deals or giving kids cars but what do I know. I really don't care when recruits get paid.

Outside council?

It's a good question that someone asked over the weekend. I don't think more serious. I think it has some depth to it meaning they are talking and have talked to a good number of people. I think it's commonplace to use an outside council when you are dealing with something that's not a simple open and shut deal. Some compliance questions you walk down the hall, ask a question, get an answer and it's over. Others like this one are more involved. More involved issues often times means outside council.
