not really. HB is on the roster. KS has signed. both rated waaaaaaaaaaay above were Dobbs was coming out.
nobody knew who dobbs was until he was forced in to action against Bama in a blow out loss. otherwise, jones was going to keep him on the shelf, a move i didn't disagree with at the time. but it's total revisionist history to go back now and talk about how great a decision it was for Jones to play dobbs.
lol. and hell even when he did, the majority of the plays Dobbs made were off script when the infallible one's plays broke down around him due to that puny OL he put out there, and how he mismanaged the run game with the personnel we had.
I wish they would hurry this isht up so we can all move on towards hating whichever schlub they decide to hire...of course we have get by the hope-love-doubt parts of the relationship first..
Exactly.
People forget that it’s still Nick Saban’s system.
Good news there are a TON of options that fit this mold - even guys who would be way down on the list.
Gus Malzahn - 77-38 HC record
Steve Sarkisian - 46-35 HC record
Billy Napier - 28-11 HC record
Neal Brown - 45-27 HC record
Scott Satterfield - 63-36 HC record
Jamey Chadwell - 79-52 HC record
Jeff Brohm - 49-35 HC record
All have run multiple programs and have had success. All are offensive-minded. Would I be jacked up about everyone on this list? Not really. Are any of them guaranteed successes? No they aren't.
But all are damn sure a better bet than Jeremy Pruitt - and this list looks the same in December 2020 as it does in November 2021.
What has Kiffin proven? Got fired by USC...... the raiders..... improved us by 2 games bc he fixed crompton slightly(def was already good)...... he did good at Florida Atlantic but he still had a 5 win second season there.Napier may be a good coach but I just don't know. He hasn't proven enough yet. It wouldn't be a home run hire for me. Now if we went out and got Kiffin back then we could all rejoice.
we only care about ratings....when it supports our point? k.Don't personally care where they're rated. Let's see how their college careers go. I like both, but both are going to need good coaching. Ain't gonna happen under Pruitts staff, but this next staff they both can hopefully shine. Butch sucks. But he never lost to GA State, he certainly wasn't getting blown out every year by UGA and UF. He's better. But it's like comparing the to piles of **** at the end of the day![]()

doesn't change the fact what you're doing in regards to Dobbs and how Jones 'decided' to use him is revising history at it's finest.
i'd argue that dobbs added at least an additional year to Butch's tenure, while JG may be taking a year, or two, off pruitt's.
that's how important it is to have quality qb play, imo. Butch was the benefactor of some, Pruitt.....not so much.
Difference is Gus was at a destination job. Tired of posting this over and over. Freeze was at freaking ole miss. Sark was at dumpster Wash before improving them and getting hired by USC. His time there ended 5 gsmes into his second season. Not a fair comparison.
