Basically when asked about his status at liberty and hearing some chatter.... He’s been more honest with his players and admit them ever. If a job comes calling that makes his heart beat faster (*tennessee*) then he would certainly be tempted to move.
We need to hire him man!

Speaking solely for myself, I’d prefer maximum contract flexibility so that we don’t feel pot committed to Pruitt with several fresh buyouts after a lost 2021. I’d be willing to put up with mediocre assistant coaches for less sunk cost.
+1 for "pot committed"

i'm gonna keep saying this until it's over either way----

Pruitt sucks and has shown nothing to prove he's getting the program better, only worse in year 3, so why and how would he all of a sudden make a leap in year 4? He has blatantly proven to even the average fan that he doesn't know how to evaluate and develop talent--- he kept a 3rd string QB in the entire season and watched us crumble and lose without giving anyone else a fair shot. He puts 2 QB's in at the end of the season and they are clearly better than JG.
His defense was one of the worst in the SEC, yet he is supposed to be a defensive genius. No one should be retained from the defensive side of the ball with how pathetic we played. He is horrible to work for, and countless people have talked in detail about how bad of a person he is to work with/for and be around. Fulmer has done all kinds of work for him that most coaches would be required to do, yet he still has failed in just about every other department of a HC...
He turns over staff and has yet to take any full blame himself to my knowledge. He is irritable in press conferences and doesn't answer the tough questions.
Our team is full of talent and has clearly regressed from the end of last season to the end of this season.
Recruiting is lagging and we are missing out on big fish that he is supposed to get, losing out to the usual schools, which makes him not really any better of a recruiter than other coaches we've had. Sure he's won a few battles and gotten a few high tier kids, but has not developed them and now couldn't get a 5* to save his life. Recruits are decommitting and current players are leaving.

I haven't seen the fanbase this united on getting rid of a coach in all my years...

Yet, he's still here. What has he done to get another year of this BS? The people making the decisions for our football program are clearly on a different page and don't care about us ever really winning.

The only way I'll support this program moving forward until we get a new coach is to maybe watch a game on tv... not a single penny will go to the program. Forget it.
Tldr; just upvoted

If they keep Pruitt, they know, as well as we know, that he will not make it past next year. So therefore, by keeping him, they do not care about winning or the fan sentiment.

Idk why this just clicked, but it's plainly obvious. They know the seats will fill anyways and just choose to keep him. Only answer is to empty Neyland.

We won't hire Freeze because risk of investigation, but here we are in the midst of an investigation, sweet.
Pruitt gave up his own staff via WF knowing it wasn't big enough to let him go, but enough to scare the admin from a coaching search. Total alpha chess move by Pruitt and his mole Friend 👀 👀

Guy on VQ claiming VolHarley says there are serious conversations about a change coming going on. Any idea who VolHarley is?
I know I'm just repeating the same statement made by many others, but the fact that there is so much ghashing of teeth in whether or not to do the obvious gives me ZERO confidence they won't **** up the hire in a spectacular way even if they do fire him.

If they struggle with this decision, there is no decision they wouldn't struggle with. Nick Saban could call Fulmer and say he wants to coach Pro Bono for 5 seasons, and there would be a week long internal struggle that ends with Saban changing his mind.

If we keep Pruitt and Chaney, then Chaney needs to have heavy input on whoever is hired to coach OL. They have to be on same page
