Why wait? He's not got a buy out right now. The only question with Gus is, does he want to take time off or is he ready to go right now?

If we win a few more games this will have zero affect on our recruiting. Not many times Vandy and UT are competing for the same kid. Offer the same kid? Sure. But actually coming down to Vandy or UT? Rare.

People would be coming out of the woodwork for it. In fact, you could probably go ahead and make that prediction since that is a likely outcome for our next, next coaching search.

Weren't a bunch of their people on board with Mason's hiring too? He had a great resume and I think excited a lot of their alums/boosters.

The problem with that job is that they talk a lot when they hire a new coach about how they are going to help him, but it never seems to truly come through.

So, you think the general fund is going provide buy out money on a coach to the athletic department?

Can anybody confirm when Butch's last check was or will be cut? I in fact trusted an unchallenged post that it was next month.

I would gladly take an upgrade like Kiffin, but that's not likely going to happen. I am not interested in a Briles or Freeze, but I'm sure there are a handful of very unlikely ones I would be happy with. However, I believe that Tennessee's problems are mostly COVID related. So, I am more than willing to give him one more year to prove that he can do this job.

Tennessee needed the Spring and Fall practices in the worst way, and I think the COVID mess put us in a bind due to some young guys that needed the reps in the worst way. I cannot imagine any excuses though, if Pruitt can't put together a much better team next season.
