Yep. Said that plane was a personal plane and the family was going to Colorado for a family vacation. That plane was not going to be used by the AD to go talk to a candidate. Can’t remember the poster or I would attach it.

One thing I think will be for certain is White is going to get an aggressive offensive coach. He's done that every football hire he's made. He seems to understand the game is changing. Im sure the team had some input on being A LOT better offensively. Lol

Kiffin is overrated, and I hope he doesn’t come here. If you just looked at his record as a HC and blocked out the name, most here would completely reject him. Its mostly narrative about him coming back and righting some wrong from the past. People love a good redemption story. But it’s just a fairy tale.

Unpopular take: Butch was a good football coach (albeit with flaws) and will likely have success again. He was so close to really breaking through in 2015 and 2016, and had we gotten a bounce go the other way here or there, he could still be here killing it. But not enough bounces went his way, and the negativity sunk him.

He made some pretty bad personnel decisions. He was too stubborn to hire competent coordinators and ran off some good players. He also lost 8 games for the first time in our history. 2015 and 2016 were pretty fun, but overall, his tenure was not good.

We will pass on Kiffin for someone that is quite obviously not as good as him.
Its just so stupid... its so Tennessee.
IF this is what happens, then nothing at Tennessee has changed. Absolutely nothing.
You get turned down by guys like Campbell and you end up hiring some coordinator, or someone like Napier, Brown, Leipold... all the while Kiffin is there.
If thats the case, Tennessee honestly will never be more than an mediocre program again.

Elliott is a good coach, a creative mind, young and recruits really well. I’m all for it if this is the pick.

I like Kiffin a lot but to a point I agree. He is just a name. Never stays anywhere too long and hasn't ever won a champ of any kind as a HC. He also loves attention

Elliott would definitely be a risk, but I trust White knows what to look for from a coordinator transitioning to HC.

It's just not feasible to expect Fickell or Campbell to leave their cushy jobs and top 10 teams to come fix this mess.
