I hope so. I'm sick and tired of seeing these teams fall apart in the kicking game.

I really believe that special teams is one of the biggest factors in who wins a game because every play in the kicking game either covers over half the field or directly puts points on the board. It is very frustrating to see this aspect of the game get neglected sometimes.

He managed to be a DC for 5 seasons in the SEC. That's got to count for something. Sunserri won't be able to say that.

Well I don't think Dooley was aware there was a thing such as special teams....

Don't remember. I've never kept up with the daily ins and outs of their program. I do remember that they despised their defense during the time he was their DC, but you're right, apparently, we're not hiring him for that.

I saw where james Wilhoit offered to help Jones in the kicking game on twitter.

That's how I knew him, my BIL is a big GA fan. Lane beating them was one of the many reason he was let go. Having bounced around hopefully he's hungry again and focused on sticking somewhere as a position coach.

Guy is a good coach. Very good for SEC style of play in defending it. All coaches hired to be fired and he was at ga a long time. We got tired of Chavis. You will have some off years. He had not built up much good will at Okie in such a short time and he was the goat. This is a very good DB coach hire.

I got to be honest, after watching and keeping up with college football for over 30 years, I've never heard of any of these coaches coming or being mentioned except of course Jay Graham and Willie Martinez. I'm trying to warm up to this hire but CBJ said at the presser we will have the best staff in college football and a Tennessee feel to the staff but so far I just don't see it happening and don't see why any 4 or 5 star recruits or top recruits in the country that's needed in the SEC would be thrilled to play for these no name coaches. Let's hope our fans, facilities and school help somewhat getting some of these kids here because WE NEED HELP BAD!!! Our team looks flatout slow speed wise compared to the other teams in the SEC. We need speed, speed and more speed!!!!

I bet most of these guys groaning about him have never really played football outside of middle school. If you guys will not listen to IJ or BB, then no hope for you. Obviously, you don't know for yourselves.

Jmoore, you are sounding whiney again. Please do not go crying about the staff to guys we are recruiting on twitter.

I think they will do well here. Got to give them a shot first.

By the way, all these people whining about this staff, need to open their checkbook, become a "Haslam" for a day and hire "their own" coach. I like how Butch is keeping continuity with his staff, he is not trying to become someone he is not by trying to create a staff based on public opinion. Dangerous idea, and it didn't work out for Dooley.

Whatever, you did whine to them when Wilcox left and how it was all falling apart. The weird thing about it is you were right. But, it did not help UT. Sorry about the shot. But if you guys thought we were going to have the best staff in the country with the way things are now, that is a dream world.

What I want to see is a guy who can coach football. You show that and develop relationships, you can win. I like some of the Cincy coaches he is bringing to help him to continue to win championships. They know his vision which CDD never had.

Throw in Martinez, Coach Jay G., and perhaps Tee (hope Tee) then it is a solid start. You are scaring me that you may be getting close to falling off the cliff again. Trying to pull you away from the edge of the cliff.

Try to look at things a little more from a positive side.

I probably shouldn't have said that in such a public way. I edited my post and it'd be nice if you could edit yours to remove where you quoted me. I don't want to put skeeter in a bad position.

I never tweeted another recruit or player whinning to them about anything, that's false.

I just don't like the direction the program & coaching staff is going, Jones needs to prove me wrong.

I don't think Jones owes you anything, or any of us. We act like we are the greatest critics of all time, but simply put we are passionate fans. Let's just watch some football.
