and I read a lot of post this week bragging about how FSU showed us what a QB change can do for a struggling team

well don’t look at them this week if you want to say that

Can’t do that

You have to protect HB and his future.
Today isn’t the day for this
Yes it is. The chances of a win are small. Let HB play a good learning experience. Give him 2 weeks to learn and then the back half of the schedule will feel like he's playing high school ball again.

You just made the same argument as i am making.

we aren’t winning anyway. I’m not arguing against playing him I’m saying if we do we can’t throw it 45 times like the OP said. You need to protect him for his future and that’s my Point

Watching OM and I like how when it’s 3rd or 4th and 4 or 5, they actually throw to the first down. My biggest gripe of our play calling this season is we throw 30 yard passes on 3rd and 3.

I’ve never liked throwing deep bombs on 3rd and short. Just get the first down and take your shots on 1st down.

No I shoot everyone down who tries to say how the team is feeling.

Especially considering that most people who say it haven’t spent much time in a locker room.

You very well may be connected and I’ve admittedly missed the posts where you state your sources. But being connected doesn’t mean you can accurately take the temperature of a locker room full of 18-22 yr olds.

How fans feel and how the players are absolutely different things.
I’m not connected. I just happen to live next to a VFL and know some former VFLs because of that. He does happen to talk to Tee occasionally and Fulmer. But it is all second hand. I’m not connected at all.

No they must coddle the qbs even tho HB signed up to play bama every year. 100% or gtfo and find someone who will. We have 2 other qbs on roster that would play with an oline full of 5star SRs .

I think you misunderstood my point

today isn’t the day to throw it all
Over the yard for HB. Im saying if he plays give him a simple game plan and set him up for some success. If that isn’t enough to win we weren’t winning anyway and he feels good about Arkansas

Tony Elliott needs to be a HC soon. He's elevated the Clemson offense the last six seasons. Still only 40 years old.
The Clemson model...I'm jealous. Coordinators in their 6th and 9th years. They have systems...coaches...and they hardly ever leave. Almost wish we could be like a cult too. Almost.

Well when you play in a conference with nobody who has a pulse on defense it helps. But I get what you’re saying.

Alabama has an ELITE offense.
It’s old school and probably unpopular, but I think we need to take the air out of the ball today. Be very committed to the run, play action, bleed the clock, and play heavy coverage on defense. Try to avoid the big play.

We probably won’t win, but it’s the most likely route to keep the game respectable. And if you get a couple of turnovers, who knows?

Agreed. We need to shorten the game as much as possible
