I’m sorry that I missed the paper/plastic bag discussion. I wanted to provide my perspectives as a former industry insider.
You see, in the early 1990s I was a courtesy clerk (bag boy) at Food City on Kingston Pike to make money during high school. As I type that I think simultaneously - “the 90s wasn’t so long ago; Holy Crap that was almost 30 years ago!”
We bagged with 90% paper bags and it seemed unusual if someone wanted all their stuff in plastic.
It would be interesting to know the tipping point where that ratio inverted.
Anyways, that’s back when we actually carried people’s groceries out to their car and set them in their trunk.
I can’t even picture someone doing that at my local Kroger’s now. Heck, it’s hard enough to get an actual human being cashier.
* I had my wisdom teeth recently removed and am still eating oatmeal, yogurt and soups. Maybe that’s why I have temporarily slipped into an elderly curmudgeon mind state.
That is too spot on. Just eerie how well he mimics his run and moves. His Zion one is good too
I bagged groceries at Kroger when I was 15 (approx 1995/6). I remember it being rare that someone asked for paper. I would always ask what they preferred and the answer was usually indifference. I would also walk the groceries to their car and load them. I made fairly decent tips but often it was simply a service that was provided and I enjoyed it.
Back when i was in the business in the early to mid 00’s (i was a bag boy), plastic was the standard. Only old women ever requested paper. I always asked if I could help folks with their groceries to their cars. However, most declined.
Hey it's new to meI hate that guy’s videos. He does basically the same schtick over and over about all sorts of “basketball stereotypes.” None of them are funny, they’re repetitive and he does that same kinda hitchy, hunched trot in every one. Needs to get some new material.
If someone tried to decline my assisting them to their car, I told them that it wasn't an option and if they didn't want smushed bread and busted eggs all over their trunk they had best become compliant real fast.
First coronavirus case in Tennessee reported in Williamson County, just outside Nashville. If y’all need me I’ll be at Costco buying bulk survival items.
I don't understand adults that don't wash their hands....Hell, I don't understand people that walk barefoot in public restrooms and restaurants either.Confirmed by Gov. Lee. I was going to post it myself, but I wasn't caught up and saw this post.
Don't panic, but be prepared. Find a good source, like the CDC, and read up on it. And for goodness sake, wash your hands!
When it is all said and done, there will probably be more people diagnosed with it than is actually being reported. Most people are not even "eligible" to be tested.First coronavirus case in Tennessee reported in Williamson County, just outside Nashville. Yeah, I live in WC. Living the dream, wondering where I accidentally encountered this guy while out and and about and probably caught the coronas from him. Corona paranoia it’s a thing. Got to go buy a 55 gallon drum of hand sanitizer to jump in now.First coronavirus case in Tennessee reported in Williamson County, just outside Nashville. Went to a men's room at a Speedway not long ago and there was a guy who looked to be in his mid twenties on the floor doing pushups as men were entering/leaving the facility. He finished his set as I was still standing at a urinal near the lavatory and he turned and walked out after he got up. I couldn't believe he would be so stupid. That floor was fairly nasty looking too.I don't understand adults that don't wash their hands....Hell, I don't understand people that walk barefoot in public restrooms and restaurants either.
