Not having Wright on the OL hurt more than we realized it would.

And Morris played like dog doo - maybe he is hitting that freshman wall. I hope not. We are going to need him.

He just had a tough matchup on the edge yesterday and had some freshman moments. The UAB DL is pretty solid. ON the inside Marino at DT and Fair, that 335 lb. NT, are a load and made it tough for the interior of the OL to get any push and get blocks on the 2nd level, which made it tough to be consistent in the run game, which made it tough for the pass game. I know UAB played a crap schedule most of the season, but that defense is solid.

One thing I know for certain is that Kash kid for UK will intentionally hurt Maurer if he gets a chance. He’s a dirty dirty player for sure. He snapped FF’s ankle purposely earlier this year. Need to keep an eye on that kid if Maurer plays.
That was two different plays. He twisted FF ankle on a goal line play, and said after the game that his arm got stuck under the pile and he was trying to get it out. I am not sure Kash was involved in the play that FF broke his ankle.

If their D is solid, how do they compare to KY, MO, and Vandy's?

I think Gibbs is going to add another needed veteran on the WR group next year. It’s been quiet since the season started but in fall camp he was mentioned a lot to be looking good.

Beyond him Brandon Johnson redshirting should help. Keyton and Tillman have both had flashes this year.
Gibbs isn’t a veteran at the POSITION tho. He’s experienced with the speed of the game at this level so that could make for a quick transition.

I'd like to know the stats on how often opposing teams throw at Alontae...seems like the receiver he is lined up against never gets targeted.

I can only remember a handful of catches against him this year and most of those were early in the season when we played a lot of zone because of BT not being on the field.

It's nice having a lockdown corner who is so good that the better option is to throw at BT who is also terrific.

Why can't we talk about how well Jennings, Bryce, HT, the Dline are playing?

BT was a beast yesterday, he has really rebounded well from his early season issues. I’m proud of him for that and I know the team is as well. HT is gonna be the anchor of this defense for the next 2-3 years and that is freaking exciting given how great a player he is. D-line may be the biggest improvement though, those guys are getting after it now and the rotation they have helps keep the guys fresh with the Amount of players rotating. I’m glad we’ve been able
To let Elijah Simmons redshirt as well, that helps are d line depth goin forward

Correct. Except it was Trask’s ankle he was twisting.

Garrett Marino (the UAB guy who put that dirty hit on TS) is 25 years old. He was originally in the 2013 recruiting class with Arizona State but failed to qualify, so he skipped a year. He went to Montana State in 2014, but was then kicked off the team after 3 weeks. Went JUCO for 3 weeks, then went to UAB in 2015.

All this, and somehow he has one more year of eligibility remaining. NCAA is....

Better than Vandy I think. Remains to be seen about Mizzou and UK. I think Mizzou probably has a better overall defense when full strength, but has had 1 or 2 key guys missing PT the last few weeks. UK's defense has been so-so. Their D was pretty good the last 3 weeks but that was against Ark, and the Mizzou and UGA games were played in monsoons so the offenses were one dimensional and TO-prone, so hard to really take much from those games defensively. I don't think UK's secondary can stay with UT's WRs, but it remains to be seen who controls the LOS.

@volatil None of this would have been possible without you and the staff at STR. Specifically you, since you were the one who posted it here first but then VN did what we do...we took care of our own when they were down. We did it for RichRollin, @chargervol and several others. That's what makes this board great.

What @Atlanta VOL did today was...I can't even describe. Holy crap y'all. Not only did he pitch in a TON for Ashlee, he gave me and my girls the best day I've ever had in Neyland. He's a helluva dude too. Super nice host, down to earth, good guy, great company, and made my family feel welcome. I'll never forget that.

AV, when we get the house built, you're getting an invite to the party that I'm throwing....might not rival yours but I can give it a shot. Plus, a good friend of mine is an award winning chef, I told him he has to cater....there will be a spread.

Anyway... I'll post more when I can, we just got home. Here isr Mrs. ob79 and my girls. Ashlee's the youngest.View attachment 235661
God bless you guys and this story is my absolute favorite. Want to see a grown man brought to tears, anything involving a child just destroys me but an unbelievable ending, makes me happier than I think possible.

Sidenote: AV wasn't around to help when this board literally saved my life and I didn't get the chance to meet him. Please tell him if he wants to make it up, please direct all goodwill to - #DarnellWashingtontothehill.
Thanks in advance, GBO, I saw nothing.
