I just don't see how we trot JG back out there. Dude is broken. Even if he makes a handful of good passes like he did last Saturday, you just know that disaster is coming. But if Shrout is terrible and throws it to the other team, heck, I don't know what to do. Rotate Crouch and JJ at QB and run the wildcat like crazy

Agreed. The best way to predict future behavior is past behavior, and other than the Miss State game he’s been a turnover machine for the Vols.

I’ve been saying this since Saturday night. Pruitt was upset with him for flopping out and taking his helmet off.

His hands were tied at that point. He couldn’t put Maurer back in....

Hey Brian - Take a knee, and keep your damn HELMET ON
I wouldn't be surprised to learn that there is something to this.

He’s been done. Not sure why we keep trotting out someone who could care less. I say let’s roll with our leader, who will put this team on his back and carry them to winning out...JAUAN JENNINGS! Let’s go!!!

I know Jauan played QB in HS. Honest question, does anyone really know if he can throw the ball accurately enough to score points? Not coming after you, just curious question. I feel like he would have at least 2 turnovers if forced to throw. I also feel like Shrout would have a few so wouldn't it make more sense to have JJ on the field catching the ball if you are going to get the same amount of turnovers potentially?

Check out Bowden experiment at Kentucky

That is my concern. It is fairly painful to watch against a decent defense over the course of an entire game. Definitely should be used in certain situations but I don’t think you can go with JJ the entire game.

Now if we could install the Baylor vs. UNC bowl game offense, that would be something (but it likely takes a lot more than a week)

I'm pretty sure Muschamp is going to play to stop the run. Trot JT out there and go air raid for a half.. see what happens. Hopefully our WR's can break free and get up multiple scores. Second half, pound it down their throat and run clock.

I don;t want to get in a defensive battle with these guy.. they're good at grinding out and winning defensive battles.

A few years back, the Yankees had a second baseman who couldn't make a throw to first base. He just lost confidence and forgot how to make the throw. When you lose your confidence, all is lost until you figure it out. If we have to play JG, lets hope he gets it figured out.
"A few years ago" is over 20 years now lol Chuck K had a physical disorder pop up, wasnt all mental.

Now that I've had time to catch up, I'm not sure anything has happened. That is a great hospital and a second opinion strikes me as a good idea, regardless of what the Knoxville docs said.

No Maurer doesn't surprise me at all. Manage the game with JG by running it down their throats at will.
Yes
Run the ball
Pruitts halftime speech said it best
it’s a mentality to take over as an oline......and our guys seem to be
If we ran it against bama, we better run it straight up Carolinas ass
our guys shoving jorden down the field against a bunch of bama defenders was a thing of beauty

Unless there is more than that post from Maurer (and I kinda hope there's not), isn't the hospital visit compatible with any and all conjectured outcomes. I think we should be patient and glad that if we don't know who is playing, Muschamp doesn't know who to prepare for.

What's a realistic finish to the class look like? I'm thinking we need at least one tight end, more d line depth, and wideouts. Can we get that?
Baron, Hardy, and Big O will be in this class imo. I don’t see any way we miss them right now. That’s three big time D-linemen. It seems we’re going to strike out at TE barring a miracle get of DW. That doesn’t seem likely right now, but if we win out who knows what happens. Things are also slow at WR. Seems as tho we are out for Rakim as well.

So after those 3 I just mentioned I don’t k ow who we add. That’s only 20 players and we have 5 more. I think we’re the favorites right now for Oxendine. The coaches are not pursuing Grimes. They will fight for Chris Morris, Sewell, and DW. But I don’t know who they target if we miss there.

So we’re looking at 20-21 commits depending on if we land Ox. The rest of the class is anyone’s guess.

May be a little late to Ubben conversation but this is a quote from the "concussion" article being discussed yesterday:

“It’s hard to know, based only on somebody’s having symptoms, whether they’re concussed or not, and that’s one of the problems we have in sports right now is everything is a little too protocoled, so that any brain-related symptom after any hit is automatically assumed to be a concussion,” Kutcher said. “And more often than people realize, that’s not the case. There are other explanations. Things are a lot more complicated than I think the protocol would have you believe.”

Rushing an athlete back from a concussion can make an existing concussion worse, but Kutcher disagrees with the assertion that one concussion makes athletes more susceptible to more concussions.

“My clinical experiences is that’s not the case,” Kutcher said. “What is the case is having one diagnosed concussion makes it easier to be diagnosed with a concussion again when you don’t have one. You’re labeled as concussed without people giving it more thought. So I would say that the idea that one concussion makes the next one easier to get is certainly not proven and I don’t believe that to be what I’ve seen clinically.
