Not gonna lie though, I'm starting to despise feeling like the 1990's Braves
Gets too bad? Share notes with pre and post 1990’s Braves fans.View attachment 224641

Well, not to rub salt in your clearly evident wound, but this makes the 7th consecutive division title. My biggest concern this year is the bullpen. You're gonna play a lot of close games in October, and our 'pen is straight trash homie.Bob Ross couldn’t paint a better picture.Brings tears to my damn eyes 4 years in a row or something NL west division champs only to see it being choked away by chokeshaw AGAIN this year

I lol'd because I thought you'd mocked Californian attention-seeking and baseball in a single bound.
[Picture Catbone's avi here] But you were serious.
I'd be happy to take credit for clever nuanced humor, but in this case I actually am a Dodgers fan and I do live in California.
You bastard.
Nope. They would still pay more. We are only paying Butch now and I believe he will get roughly 2.4 million next year. If they fired Taggart in February, they would owe him $17 million. We will be done paying Butch in February 2021. They have it way worse. The difference is UCLA and Tennessee are still paying failure money to coaches. Jimbo left on his own, FSU can afford to pull the trigger and replace Taggart if they wish.
They do profit.Well this is ultimately the biggest point. California is just trying to pressure the NCAA to pass this rule for all student athletes that they already have in place for athletes in the Olympic sports.
It’s ultimately a question of “rights” and “freedoms” of adult men and women in this country. Should every person have the right to profit off his or her name? Or should we allow that to be stifled because we like watching college football on Saturdays?
They had problems well before that. The difference is UCLA and Tennessee are still paying failure money to coaches. Jimbo left on his own, FSU can afford to pull the trigger and replace Taggart if they wish.
No, coach Willie Taggart’s job isn’t in jeopardy heading into Year 2.
It can’t be. The money isn’t there.
FSU’s financial shortfalls haven’t been a secret. Athletic director David Coburn has been upfront about the Seminoles’ $3 million-plus deficit in the 2018 fiscal year. The athletic department needed 6 million dollars from boosters just to balance the budget.
Fixing those problems through greater collaboration between the boosters and athletic department was at the heart of why both sides agreed to form the FSUAA, a direct-support organization established by FSU’s board of trustees last month. Money, in fact, was the first reason Russell cited in a May email to the board of directors, before they voted on the move.
“As we all know, the FSU Athletics program has been struggling financially,” Russell wrote.
I stand corrected, I should have read that in more detail. That is crazy money.Nope. They would still pay more. We are only paying Butch now and I believe he will get roughly 2.4 million next year. If they fired Taggart in February, they would owe him $17 million. We will be done paying Butch in February 2021. They have it way worse.
Guys you’re wasting your time on this California state law. It is meaningless because of interstate commerce clause. Even if they keep all their games and broadcasts in state it still violates the commerce clause because it has impacts in other states. Clearly won’t ever be enforceable so don’t waste your time thinking about it. Would take the US Congress to pass something like this to have any real impact.
And if you doubt me on this, google the 1942 case Wickard v Filburn.
