IndoctrinatedLol c’mon man. We all know you’re heavily indoctrinated, but those cops didn’t rough the kid up or anything.
They ran his ID. It came back with legal warrant outstanding.
What were they supposed to do? Send him on his way with a wave and a smile?

I have no issue with the cops, or CJP in this case. I think both handled the situation well. The issue is with the Knox County court system. The minute there was a warrant issued for Banks arrest the authorities at UT should of been contacted. Then the warrant would of never been outstanding it could of been handled peacefully. The cop was just doing his job.
The whole thing is weird in my mind. Pruitt talks about taking care of the ticket with state troopers. If Banks had another outstanding ticket, I would think they would have said something along the lines of 'yes sir, this one has been taken care of but we show another one in the system that is still outstanding'.I have no issue with the cops, or CJP in this case. @BruinVol I could be wrong, but I know I heard the officer say to Pruitt that the warrant was from Knox county. Either way it sucks
I get what he's saying. I'm sure at GA, AL, and FSU, the police, especially the campus police are guardians of the football team and run interference. Having said that, the appropriate response from Pruitt would be, don't worry about it, you screwed up. You should have handled this before. Just be respectful and don't make it worse. He exacerbated the problem by placing the blame on the police and shifting none to the real reason he was in the spot he was in. What does Banks do? Doubles down on stupidity and acts like a fool. The cops were nothing but respectful and went beyond nice. I would have never treated him with the amount of kindness they showed.
I'm just waiting for the story about every tweet that football players had from highschool that were derogatory towards cops. Many of which will probably be rap lyrics and were made around the time the NWA movie came out, but it will be presented as their own thoughts and feelings. For all of the good social media can do for humanity, the negatives of it far out weights the positives. Knoxville media is on a witch hunt for anything negative regarding UT football. They will probably go back to find anything dirty on all players and coaches.
As an aside, cops learn about warrants and let people go all the time. They may be "obligated" to arrest on a warrant, but in practice you often see them give a warning and tell the person to take care of it right away. Not saying that should have happened here (or in any particular case), but it's not true that a cop has to make an arrest any time they learn that someone has a piddly traffic ticket warrant.
