If Gurantano starts on Saturday then it will be the battle of the QB who lost his starting position and immediately entered the transfer portal vs the QB who lost his starting position but stuck around and earned the position back.
JG will have the best game of his career on Saturday. Just like this team, he’s turned the corner, too. Can’t wait. We are going to win BIG!!!

Plain and simple...just like you. 😉 The rule’s clearly stated opposite of your interpretation and you’re Bruining it cuz you’re dug in. When your teetering point hinges on this bizarre give 3 scholarships for just a semester and then yank em away fulcrum, you lost before you started. Best occupy yourself in a fresh search of windmills.

Yeah college financial departments don’t work like that. Too much goes into it to to be able to put someone on scholarship then yank it and then put them back on. Also, the NCAA would not allow it.

Yes the ncaa allows student athletes to go on and off money all the time.

In fact it’s happens all the time in baseball

And aspiring Bruins out on the Twitterverse would be bisching about it quite regularly. 😎

Baseball does not have the same scholarship situation as football because of the sheer numbers that are free to sign out of high school...and you very well know that. Try again! You’re insulting yourself with that weak effort...and that’s our job! 😏

Sure they are different sports but the op said the ncaa doesn’t allow. He’s wrong they do.

And also we all know all scholarships regardless of the sport are only year by year

Ok...so you’re branching out and cherry pickin. Sure sign of winnin. 😉 Yes scholarships are renewable every year and we KNOW when they haven’t been in football...cuz aspiring Bruins and even regular humans ASK questions.

Lol

The hell I don’t. Just stop responding because your last post regarding the ncaa not allowing scholarships to go up and down makes you look foolish
No switching to another sport is genius. All look foolish when you backpedal.

He's earned the start. He also earned the criticism early but he's earned our respect now. I look forward to the QB battle next year between JG, Maurer, and Bailey. It will be a good thing if JG is named the starter imo.

Like Butchna said Baseball is a totally different beast. You are the one that looks foolish. If you think our coaches would utilize three initial counters to take away from the “25” for next year you are an idiot plain and simple.

The rule Butchna cited clearly details the issue that took place. We lost 3 individuals who voluntarily withdrew from the institution and those 3 “counters” were given to 3 athletes within the same year hence the reason they aren’t considered “initial counters for next year” per the guideline. There does not have to be any type of appeal or waiver granted it is just allowed. It’s pretty freaking simple.

They passed multiyear guaranteed scholarships Spring 2015 iirc. You have to do something really egregious, cheating or such nowadays.
Not really

Still the same appeal process that very very very few kids ever use now or then. They just tuck their tale and leave

I wish they would challenge at times

There is a kind of VN connoisseurship -- or perhaps more accurately, not wholly un-amusing time suck -- wherein one who has multiple posters on ignore and witnesses a string of folks rebuking air, attempts to identify the miscreant without unblocking, relying solely on the content, tone, and number of the rebuttals.

Most want to play more than anything else. If that means transferring to do it they will. Yes, they could stay on scholarship with an appeal but at that point you know you're likely not going to see the field.
