Wrap up told you everything we were/are hearing. I don't know what the end result is going to be. I know that Tennessee better get it wrapped up.

The notion of not getting Strong or Gundy is not a good one because if that scenario happened it would appear that Tennessee would be starting over.

Maybe I'm just tired, but it's time Dave Hart gets this search done.

I don't understand the last 24 hours. I think you gotta get some answers and get it done. But again maybe I'm just tired of it. But it's Wednesday and it appears (unless I'm missing something and that's possible) that they are waiting or trying to work something out with a guy they interviewed 6 days ago and a guy they interviewed 4 days ago.

Again, maybe I'm just tired.

Those around both candidates believe they have an offer. Are they wrong or are they mislead? Maybe.

I haven't seen an offer sheet.

Strong has wanted the job badly, but he interviewed 6 days ago. Did he run out of patience? Everyone has said that Louisville would counter to keep him. Has Strong gotten cold feet, I believe he spent yesterday afternoon diving back into his research of the job.

This is all on Hart if both Strong and Gundy fall through...and I'd be inclined to fire him if we were to wind up with nothing to choose from except second and third tier candidates.

This is being played so well that even Hubbs doesn't have a clue what is going on and is confused? Are you people starting to smell a rat yet? Maybe you should take off your blindfold, open your eyes a little, and look at the whole picture.

I have never heard of two candidates having a job offer at the same time. That doesn't happen. But both sides believe they have an offer. So maybe sources on one side are confused.

If they don't get either Strong or Gundy, then I would guess they full court press on Fedora or they reshuffle the deck. I don't know right now.

Two days ago Strong was ours. Hart better not have lost him, I will be livid.

Hope we come back with an offer he can't refuse now that Louisville is trying to match our offer.

I'm lol, too, at all of you guys that want to make fun of fellow Vol fans for trying to let you in on a little bit of info in another thread that is on it's 15th thread and about 150,000 posts, since we know a lot of people in the recruiting forum don't look at that thread. Ron and myself have tried to tell a few tidbits that the OGs laid out, and are trying to tell you that this search is playing out EXACTLY as it was proposed. Take it or leave it, but you don't have to mock those who are just a fan like you are, and want what is BEST for our great university! If Strong is announced today, then great! I think he is a good hire, but he is not a grand slam like the one that all of the signs are pointing to.

Don't you find it strange that Strong was a LOCK yesterday evening...everyone was going crazy and Skeeter confirmed this to us. Now, the reports are surfacing that Strong may indeed stay at Louisville. Does that not send up a red flag to anyone? Believe what you want...I will eat my crow from the grill with some creole seasoning on it, if it's anyone other than Gruden, but I can't deny how this thing is playing out exactly as it was said to. I hope you will do the same and eat your crow if it's Gruden.

Yeah!! Let's keep throwing more money at a coach who is already over paid!! You make 1.8, here is 3.7!! What!! They offered you 3.8, here is 4.2!!

Meanwhile we could hire Petrino or Fulmer for 2.5 and be better off day 1. JMO of course.

I would take Gundy for 4.2 million over the whole group though. :hi:

Just a thought, but of all the quality coaches reasonably thought to be potential hires could Hart have picked any 2 coaches that were more likely to have their current schools match any offer they might receive. The AD at Louisville is quoted as saying earlier he is willing to match any offers and make Strong the highest paid coach in CFB. Similar with Gundy at OK St, Pickens is not going to allow some one to come in and simply buy their coach.

Almost as if Hart picked these two so called leading candidates knowing pulling them from their current school would be extremely difficult at best. I have no idea what is going on but the search has seemed very strange from the start. Almost as if there was no urgency at all in the process.
