They will never get what they want, an elite top 5 HS class and top ranked portal acquisitions every year....either because we just don't have the money to pull the high number of elite players in one class that it would take to get us into that echelon, or because we do have money but choose to spread it all over the AD and not just on football.

Whatever the reason, we are obviously not going to ever be among the super aggressive in spending money...if they can't get the guy for what they feel he is worth...then so be it...I am fine with that approach

I really like Heupel, he has given me what I really wanted and asked for after the 15 years of hell we endured...a truly competitive program. He has already proven he can win with whatever he has to work with, he loves it here and appreciates it appropriately.

I understand he is going to have down years along with the great years and I am fine with that...I believe he will keep us competitive.

I love Josh Heupel for what he has already done for Tennessee...and I HATE the Idiot Margin FOOLS that infest VolNation for every stupid bitch and moan criticism they level at him...Tony and Rick Barnes.

We have great men and women leading our programs...and thousands of idiots bitching about them.

Had a collection of magazines. Even watched that show with Scott Kennedy and Jamie Newberg. It was produced in Atlanta, and on SS. Was hard as hell to find it, and was on at like 3PM. But loved it.
No one wants to hear about your Hustler collection.

Correction, no one other than @The Dog wants to hear about your Hustler collection.

Replies like this will get you called a "Troll" or a "NegaVol" be careful....
No, when the same people say the same things day after day, thread after thread, only offering negatives, THAT is what gets them called trolls or negavols. Because at that point they are either….. trolls or negavols. LOTS of people throughout the years have expressed concerns and differing opinions without being labeled nega.

You should be the only one thinking that. It is on record that we were trying to get a power 4 starter after Nico left. We went after Luke Altmyer and Josh Hoover hard, but they did not want to come. Hell, we offered Hoover a million more than what he was making at TCU and he did not want to leave. Nico was going to be the starter this year and him leaving left a large void.
Not saying you are wrong, I just don’t see it. None of that was confirmed that I seen. Again not saying you’re wrong. We had the talent here already and ja was not exactly highly sought after. I think that most of us wouldn’t know his name if it wasn’t for him being at ucla when Nico transferred there. We were down numbers not talent when Nico left. Never want to start a season with just 2 scholarship qbs. Jake’s been in the system for a year and George has been in it more than Joey. His experience is all he has on the other 2 and with just a couple months of being here he is least experienced in our system

Gamecock fan understands their place in the pecking order.

I think he's right about not having sustained success, but with the crazy season we just saw where big upsets were happening every week, the chances of a "have not" seeing the stars align for a super successful season every now and then have gone up. NIL and the transfer portal have made college football seasons less predictable and I doubt revenue sharing changes that.

Man seeing that causes me to have concerns about S recruting. Not necessarily the talent level, but the lack of numbers.
I wouldn't concern myself too much. The staff loves Farooq and Beasley at Safety and sounds like they're comfortable with them getting playing time this year. Both underclassmen. I think Tim Merrit is being reported as a safety and was a nice recruiting win.

Maybe we can find a Deon Grant or Jauan Jennings clone to play safety. . . I guess JJ made the right decision to play offense, but I've thoroughly convinced myself he would've been the best Safety the sport has ever seen.

I won’t allow my daughter to have any clothing or stuffed animals with elephants
I told my boys when they were younger if they ever came home with anything alabama related I'd burn it and if they were wearing it, they would get hot. 🤣

I HATE ALABAMA AND THEY DO TOO

Raise em right!!

GO VOLS

The TCU QB himself confirmed it and there are several quotes from him in this article. I am not sure why he would lie about it.
Article
The Star-Telegram reported in April that Tennessee offered Hoover a $1 million raise.

"Tennessee offered Hoover roughly $1 million more than he currently makes at TCU but Hoover quickly turned down the Vols to remain in Fort Worth," wrote The Star-Telegram's Steven Johnson. "Hoover already has a seven figure salary in Fort Worth."

Earlier this summer, Hoover was asked about the lucrative offer from Tennessee and his decision to stay at TCU.

"I love Forth Worth, I love TCU," said Hoover when asked why he decided to decline the offer from Tennessee. "This is the place I want to be at. TCU is a top program and that's why I came here. I came here to win a Big 12 Championship. I told my teammates I was going to be the quarterback here this year. And the way I grew up, your word means something. That's all there was to it. I love TCU. I love Fort Worth."

"Nope, not really," added Hoover when asked if it was a hard decision to say no to Tennessee. "I love TCU. This is where I want to be. I love Forth Worth. My family is close. Love the people here. Love playing with my teammates and coaches. I want to go win a Big 12 Championship."

Here is the video of him addressing it:

We tried to entice multiple power 4 starters to enter the transfer portal because of the void Nico left. The main two were Altmeyer and Hoover. We failed, so we took the next best thing out there which was JA. There is no way that we were comfortable with our QB room when we were going after those guys nor should we have been.
