Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Bargo did struggle after the Bama game in SEC Tourney into NCAA, of course. And, while yes, I would've liked to have seen his overall avg up closer to .300; however, Bargo is also a great exposer of people.

He hit 14 HRs this year and drove in 40 runs. This is where people show that they know nothing, or have been spoiled. Having a lineup in college baseball, up and down the order, hitting 20+ HRs and driving in 60 or more...people, that doesn't happen. 14/15 to 19/20 HRs and driving in 40 to 50 is a damn good power-hitting season. Yes, I would've liked to have seen more runs and production from our 4-hitter; but... .272/.366/14/40 is, by no means, a lousy season.
I don't know that many people are saying his entire season was lousy, rather the latter half of his season left something to be desired.

Guys I don't follow HS recruiting like I used to. Does anyone here know off the top of your head if any of the 5 incoming recruits are rating higher than a 3*? Thanks in advance. Can they run like deer?

I’m the same too. With the way kids flip and the transfer portal and roster turnover, there’s no need for me to get emotionally invested. A high majority of the incoming class won’t be on the roster in two years.

I’ve turned my interest to mainly the transfer portal.

I will respectfully but vehemently disagree with the above statement. There is no heat/humidity like South Louisiana.
Closest I’ve experienced was the South Carolina low country - East TN only has a few weeks each summer what those places have all summer long, at least in my experience.

I’d like to apologize to those who show up here and both contribute to and consume the content shared here. Please do not take this for anything more than what it is, an apology. It is not religion/political/etc etc driven. Just want to say I’m sorry.

I have at times soured this message boards value by taking advantage of my anonymity, disregarding the impacts of my words, crossing social boundaries, demanding more and giving less, assuming more and inquiring less, speaking to people and about people I do not know as if I do, sweeping at the knees of posts that were made in good faith, imparting values through my posts that are not consistent with who I am in real life and who I am to those I do know and care about, and overall contributing to the toxicity of readily available content as opposed to being a more positive contributor that helps lift up and attract light instead of drag down and spread darkness that is already too prevalent - amongst other misgivings I’m sure. For all these things I apologize to those who have not ignored me yet and hope that those who read this do not follow in those footsteps I left. I’m going to try to be better.

j/k 🤣

Tennessee used to have 4 good seasons. Our winters are now mild and kinda bleh, and spring and fall are short. Climate change has made Tennessee a hotter state without the distinct seasons it used to have.
I moved from Cleveland to Murphy NC a few years ago, and the notoriously cold and snowy winters are mostly a thing of the past - according to those that have lived here awhile.

We have tons of armadillos now.

This "Decision" put us where we are today.....................

The Supreme Court ruling that broke the NCAA's monopoly on college football television rights occurred on June 27, 1984.
The case, NCAA v. Board of Regents of the University of Oklahoma, decided that the NCAA's regulations regarding the televising of college football games violated the Sherman Antitrust Act. This decision freed individual universities and conferences to negotiate their own television contracts.

Easy read article I found...........
